ianmdrennan 2 #1 May 4, 2005 not because it isn't good (it is what I've heard so far) but I CANNOT play it in a computer cd player so far. Works on my home system (both the dvd and the cd), my car (the cd) and my computer(only the dvd section but I don't have that software installed at work). Anyone else having this problem? Brains 2 #2 May 4, 2005 Is there a barcode on the cd? if so use a sharpie on it to mark it out then try again. I have heard this works. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
ianmdrennan 2 #3 May 4, 2005 Yes there is, but I'm somewhat reluctant to draw all over a cd with a sharpie!!! Performance Designs Factory Team

Zenister 0 #9 May 4, 2005 you might try fooling the player... put in a CD that works start it playing eject the CD without stoping the player then put in the NIN disk... some of the copy protection schemes work by making the player think its not a audio disk...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. ianmdrennan 2 #10 May 4, 2005 QuoteI "heard" that it is an anti-theft thing. To keep you from copying and sharing Yeah I did some reading and it seems that it is. I understand why they did this, but a lot of us use computers for this kind of thing (like right now wanting to listen to it at work). I bugs me that I'm inconvenienced as a paying customer cause they're trying to stop something they simply can't. Hell, look at the gaming industry. Every time they find a new way to 'prevent' copying, they piss off paying customers and someone hacks the protection anyway. Grrrrrr. mr2mk1g 10 #11 May 4, 2005 Just download the content. You have reasonable use rights as you own the CD. Yes this is an arse way round to have to do things.

Paige 0 #15 May 4, 2005 The only place mine is, is on the computer. I got it a few weeks ago so I don't even know the names of the songs. They had to stay Track 1, etc. till the album came out aparently (we have mac's, I have no clue). I can somehow get it to you via web is need be.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
ianmdrennan 2 #16 May 4, 2005 Hey Paige, Thanks, it's not too much of a problem cause I can use the DVD software to run it if need be. It just pisses me off to pay for something that won't work. I can't remember the last time I downloaded something off the web. I'm in a position now where I support the artists (and game developers) by buying their products. Of course, if they're trying to get me pissed off, saying Fuck It and downloading their shit, they're going about it the right way. Paige 0 #17 May 4, 2005 Ya I didn't download from a web site, a friend sent it to me since he got a copy as an early release from working in the music industry in Columbus. Believe me, iTunes has PLENTY of my money and they will get over $10,000 when its all said and done. I didn't even get the whole CD, just a few songs that I haven't even listened to yet.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Cyanide41 0 #18 May 4, 2005 one of my co-workers is playing it in his PC right now. He says he had no problems. One I try playing cd's with DVD material on them at work, I have to use that previously mentioned method of inserting a regular CD, and then eject it and insert the desired CD. Good Luck. ianmdrennan 2 #19 May 4, 2005 Well, it's definitely possible I just have a crappy player @ work. Will try it at home tonight and see what happens. Thanks! Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
bkdice 0 #20 May 4, 2005 Ian - I just got this CD today as a gift. Funny how this thread popped up. I did the sharpie thing on the bar code and it both plays on, and will copy to my computer.
ianmdrennan 2 #21 May 4, 2005 Hey B!! Did the CD play before the sharpie thing? Or did you have problems too? Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
ianmdrennan 2 #22 May 4, 2005 Well I tried the sharpie thing, but then I realized the bar code was on the DVD side, not the CD side DOH! So no luck there. I figure I must have a crappy player if other people are playing it fine so I'll try it at home 2night. ianmdrennan 2 #23 May 4, 2005 Well I think I must just have gotten a 'bum' cd seeing as others seem to be able to play it fine on their computers. I took it home and tried it. My machine promptly locked up (yech). After a reboot I could see the tracks but not actually play any of them. I think I'll return it and try another copy as I've tried it on 4 different players now. Odd that the car, dvd player play it fine. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
MarkM 0 #24 May 5, 2005 I don't listen to CDs anymore just use them as masters and rip them direct to mp3(ogg actually). Guess I won't be buying this one then
DrunkMonkey 0 #25 May 5, 2005 You've already bought the license to the music for your use, so wouldn't it be legal to get it off Limewire?
