gmittar 0 #51 May 4, 2005 QuoteI feel better when I drink more coffee. And there are lots of people who feel better when they drink more alcohol. Feeling "better" doesn't prove it is more healthy or act as any kind of evidence. I know my body well enough to tell the difference between being hydrated and caffienated. The times when I haven't had enough(according to me) but have been within the parameters of them studies, I've felt dehydrated and shitty. This isn't a drug I'm drinking that gives me a false sense of well being, it's water, and it's good for you. |>.<| Seriously, W.T.F. mate?

Divers know that too much oxygen can kill you as quickly as too little, even though oxygen is certainly good for you - and even though it can certainly make you feel good. gmittar 0 #53 May 4, 2005 And my argument is that the amount I drink isn't too much. It would take a qualified proffessional examining my body, health, diet and environment to tell for sure, but that's not likely to happen. I'm certainly not going to stop drinking as much water, or even attempt to cut down, that just sounds silly to me. |>.<| Seriously, W.T.F. mate? Amanduh 0 #54 May 4, 2005 I gotta agree with gmittar on this one. I know when I make a point to drink at least a gallon of water a day, I drastically notice changes in my complexion, energy level, skin not being so dry, a more 'natural glow', wake up easier in the mornings...I mean, it seriously rejuvenates me. Maybe not everyone, but I only started the serious 'water business' about 3 months ago and within 3-4 days I seriously noticed a change in myself in all of the above, and even more.... Intaking a lot of water throughout your day definately has more advantages than disadvantages. Yeah, if you chug down a gallon of water in a sitting, it's not going to do you any good...and yes I agree it could possibly do harm, but through out a 24 hour period it is not going to hurt you. Just my 2 cents
 ccowden 0 #55 May 4, 2005 QuoteAnd my argument is that the amount I drink isn't too much. My point was more directed to the people who say you HAVE to dring tons of water and say that doing so makes you healthier. Your body needs a certain amount of water to survive, but that amount is very small. Slightly more than that can have some good effects on your health. But there is just no scientific evidence or study that shows drinking alot of water has any more healthy effects. If you like to drink alot of water because it makes you feel good, then have at it, I am certainly not going to argue with that. But if you tell me you are healthier because of it, then I will say you are wrong. There are studies that back that. Everyone loves to tell everyone else about how they're on a diet, but it must be a very special diet because they always seem to be eating huge volumes of high fat, high carb food... All of the fat people suposedly on diets carry around the biggest water cups I've ever seen. They carry them as they walk around the office, as they loom in other peoples cubicles, as they chat at the water cooler and in the copier room.. They've got their water cup perched beside their monitor when they're sitting... These water cups are HUGE. They're 60 ounces at least. If I were to guess, I'd guess they're 64 ounces. I think they're designed to carry the "recomended" 8X8 daily supply. It's amazing what people will buy, and what they'll buy into. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
