Sick of MTV/VH1!!!!

Recommended Posts

Where did the time go when Music Video channels actually played video's? I am so sick of tuning in to VH1 and MTV only to be disappointed by some freakin' lame ass modern day drama about how someone had everything and then lost it because he turned to drugs and alcohol. WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK!!!
MTV should be called CTV for all the freakin' commercials that they are forced to play. You get freakin' 2 minutes of a show followed by 10 minutes of commercials.
Ok, I'm done venting, thanks for listening.!!!!

I am going to be forced to start listening to some whiny ass Country music just because they actually play some video's. Someone please help me!

If you are getting your music fix from TV there is something seriously wrong. TV is a visual medium not aural. Please turn the TV off and turn the radio on. ;)

The radio??? It ain't much better from what I hear!!!:ph34r: Okay, that didn't sound right coming from me! :D

But I agree with Steve, MTV and VH1 has really sucked for the last several years... All they show nowadays is a bunch of goddamn bullshit reality shows and Bridget Neilson fucking with some has-been rap star!! :S

You know, I'm going to be 38 years old this August, but I distinctly remember staying up all night with my best friend watching MTV's debut. Now THAT was awesome. Music videos straight through! No bullshit! I remember The Clash's "Rock The Casbah" aired that first night, so did some dude (can't remember his name) who sang "Salt In My Tears". Other than that, my memory has faded after 22 or 23 years... [:/]

Sad to say, spending your day watching music videos on tv was a product of the eighties and considered obsolete. Only music that depends on image to sell seems to be played anymore(hip-hop). the people today that MTV markets to are more interested in the newer technologies. If you stop to ponder, you will realize that the Reality crap format so far is longer running that the mostly music video format. It was just a fad. MTV has to act like a regular program. Either that or tank.

I hear ya! mtv, vh1 suck ass! None of them are about music; just a bunch of drama. Every time I turn it on, there is some shit about some kid that can't get laid cause he has too much acne or some shit like that, or a bunch of have been celebrities living with each other. I guess people like that kind of stuff or it wouldn't be on the air.

What's really funny is MTV2 came out to actually play videos and now every time I turn to it, there is some dumb ass teen drama going on.

No joke.... Mtv2 is now nothing more than a clone of MTV. The only good time to watch MTV2 is latenight/early morning.

WTF? Radio sucks too. I hate clear channel just as much as I hate viacom. Corportate bullshit! There are a few stations that are alright. One of my favorites here in San Diego is FM949. They pride themselves on being dedicated to the music. Now BS morning show, no talking over the songs, no corporate assholes picking the music.
