StevePhelps 0 #1 January 18, 2005 Thanks for all your help in my new creation "DZ" a comic stip centered around the life at a small Cessna DZ. DZ comic I hope to have it up and running in February. Take a look at the profiles. Would you read it?

StevePhelps 0 #5 January 18, 2005 Oh, DEFINITELY!! I got the idea in my head already! Plus should be interesting when the small DZ crew go to bigger boogies and WFF, tunnels and stuff.
ACMESkydiver 0 #6 January 18, 2005 That's GREAT!! I could get addicted to reading a comic strip like that... A couple other DZ characters that kinda seem to be common : The wise, self-proclaimed 'old-timer' that has the most incredible 'back in the good ole' days' stories and more jumps than some of us have days we've walked this earth... The perpetual student that keeps having to retake every step of the progression, yet remains terribly excited! Those are by no means suggestions for your comic strip, I LOVE the characters you've developed! They're just a couple of common types of people I think I've seen at every DZ I've been to in my extraordinarily short sky-diving career so far...You look to be a very talented artist; I can't WAIT to see what you come up with!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. jceman 1 #7 January 18, 2005 I will most assuredly read it. Good luck. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

ACMESkydiver 0 #12 January 18, 2005 QuotePlus should be interesting when the small DZ crew go to bigger boogies and WFF, tunnels and stuff. ...and we try to look like we fit in and know what we're doing when we're loading a big plane? Uh, I mean, your characters, of course...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
AggieDave 6 #13 January 18, 2005 That kind of reminds me of User Friendly. I'm not sure if you've ever read it, but if you havent I suggest you do. Go back to the beginning. It started out as a guy's hobby, drawing the comic for fun, then it turned into a HUGE community of people and a decent amount of money for Illiad. http://www.userfriendly.org--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Slappie 9 #15 January 18, 2005 I'll support ya and read it. You will loose me along with alot of other comics online who decided it was a good thing to charge a subscription fee. So as long as you stay free, I'll be there once a week or daily, just depends on your schedule of updates "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." FlailingJohn 0 #18 January 18, 2005 Nice job. The one eyed jack character is he modeled after you? doubtfully sure. John
StevePhelps 0 #19 January 18, 2005 Somewhat -- All characters besides Dink, Zeus & Rooster are modeled after someone I jump with but they'll end up with their personalities separate from their inspiration. Dink, Zeus & Rooster are obviously stereotypes.
smiles 0 #20 January 18, 2005 Quote hope to have it up and running in February. Take a look at the profiles. Would you read it? Ya!! So awesome you can include the sport you luv with your creativity!! The possiblity is endless for comedy even at a small cessna d.z.!! Looking forward to viewing and enjoying "DZ comic" in Feb. !!! The profiles are perfect!...(could add the common dz dog!) what software do you use to draw comics in?? do you prefer .png files for color to .jpg??? I have been working in Corel Draw 9 for my skydive graphics-(so accustomed to drawing tools) and importing into flash to animate and export as .swf files (drawing tools in flash suck huge!!) A skydiving buddy has been logging his jumps with drawing cartoons for years....(a work of priceless comedy by Rod Mack) .. would be awesome to scan and publish one day--to preserve (as log books now are so old- paper also)attached few horrible pics just to give an idea (shouldn't of bothered!)
