peacefuljeffrey 0 #1 April 30, 2005 I shaved today, first time since Saturday (wow, six days?!) I enjoy being clean shaven because I know it is more useful and approachable. (In other words, chicks would rather kiss a smooth face, in my experience, and some will require of you a smooth shave before they can have you go "there".) However, when I see myself in the mirror, I like my face when it has about two or three days of stubble on it. It's just the aesthetic that I prefer. How about you? Forget about what others say about you -- how do YOU prefer you to look? -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" PhreeZone 20 #3 April 30, 2005 I hate shaving and now that I have no boss to worry about.... its going to stay scruffy as long as it can then get chopped off with an electric razor only to get scruffy again Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AirMail 0 #4 April 30, 2005 I traditionally start a beard on Labor Day weekend and shave all but the stash on the first day of Spring. I like the way I look both ways. I've had my stash since Jan 29th 1969 so I wouldn't know what to do without it. P-- It's never too late to have a happy childhood. peacefuljeffrey 0 #14 April 30, 2005 QuoteQuote i change my look frequently to confuse people... If I shave, I suddenly look 10 years younger That's what happened when I went from Van Dyke to fresh shaved. I almost didn't recognize myself. I think I look too babyish, soft and vulnerable-faced when I've just shaved. Sometimes I like the look, but other times I can't wait for the stubble to return. The stubble feels like it makes the face physically tougher, like a layer of leather or armor on the soft skin. -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... That's so funny, 'cause I myself get turned down for hugs/kisses by my 3- and 5-year old nieces if I have a scratchy face. It's adorable how up-front they are about things like that. They haven't developed a sense for stating things gently. LOL! I've learned, though: when they visit, stay clean-shaven for the duration. -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... DrunkMonkey 0 #21 April 30, 2005 Since I'm in the AF, I have to shave daily. But on the weekends I do not shave. It gives my skin a break--makes the monday morning shave a lot nicer, as my skin has had 3 days to recover.
