Tattoos on feet..... ?

The back is one of the most painful places.

I have one on my lower back...and as a person who absolutely hates needles...it really wasn't that bad...

It's funny to me that I'd probably be a great candidate for getting a tattoo if I were to decide to get one (again, it's a spiritual thing that stops me), because I'm just fine with pain, can handle it well, and have no problem with needles because of all the blood donating I've done. :P

Trying to imagine getting a tattoo anywhere on my body, I would think the back would be about the least painful place. I only have one tattoo and it is on the back of my shoulder (which I guess would be considered the back?); it didn't hurt too much, only enough that I sort of liked it. :) I have been wanting to get one on my lower back (for many years now!) but I just haven't been able to think of anything that I want as a permanent addition to my body....

Getting a tattoo on the foot seems like it would tickle quite a bit... I think that might drive me crazy.

PEACEFULJEFFREY -- you were right the first time: the instep (top) of my foot, a little off-center towards the arch. i agree with you on tattoos being a very spiritual/personal thing!

SHOTGUN -- yeah i have a rather large tattoo on my mid-back, left of the spine..... just wondering how a foot tattoo compares. i don't know, but i have an inkling its NOT going to tickle.... think about all those veins in your feet! :S thats the whole reason for this post :)

thanks for all the input... please share any more personal stories/heresay!!!

i have a gf who has one on her foot -- she said it hurt like a BITCH!

I have one on my back and on my lower tummy... neither one hurt that badly. Felt like a long cat scratching me.

I think for guys tattoos on the arm, back and lower inside leg (near the ankle) look good. Plus don't hurt to badly. Isn't it when its just on skin and bone that hurts the most?

where exactly on your lower tummy (i'm assuming below the bellybutton)? is it centered or more towards the hip-bone? glad to know it wasn't painful though........wondering cuz this was the only other place i've considered getting a tattoo.

thanks! :)~hollywood

Can any of you ladies share some insight about why you select your feet for the tattoos -- why you did, or why you want to? I'm curious. I don't remember seeing tattoos on feet much until maybe a few years ago. I never saw it in New York when I lived there. In Florida, it seems pretty common (maybe because people show off their feet more in the nice weather?). Is there a meaning to it being on the feet, or is it just "a likely place"? (brierebecca, I understand that yours have meaning for you. That's cool.)

I have extensive work on the tops of my feet and wings on each side of both feet. I got these when I was 16 and then the pain was tolerable only hurting in a few spots, but now I am big wimp and I squirm a lot when getting them touched up. If you do decide to get one on your foot be prepared to get them touched up every 2 to 3 years, covering them on the beach while tanning, and basically just paying extra attention when healing because the ink does not take as well. I love mine and they represent myself and who I am. Before skydiving tattoos were my hobby and I got one for my birthdays and on vacations and all that good stuff. I designed them both and I got the wings before I started jumping and I had never even gave a thought to skydiving at that age. So it was meant to be...
Yeah, it hurts a little, but it is sooooo worth it!

#1 i think its cool 'cause feet are so ugly... its like painting your toes, ya gotta dress em up a little :)#2 i like tattoos that i can display if i feel like it but that are still in private areas. i am not a fan of having one on my neck that is always on display, for instance. to complement #2, in my profession i need to have hide-able tattoos & be conservative (ew!)
#3 last, although it seems to be more painful to have ink on your feet, i think anything worth doing is worth the pain B|
....what do you think jeff?

I got a lizzard on my foot, with the tail wrapped around my toes. Well he didn't go all the way around.

But let me tell you it hurt like a bitch.
Especially the closer you got to the toes.
When he did the tail I was about to kick the guy in the head many times...

The problems with tattoos on your feet is that they might not last so long, since your skin is different there and you pull on socks and shoes every day, or at lest quite often.

I would go for it. It's cool to have one down there:)

Skydivers are a bunch of insensitive jerks...
And that's why I don't skydive anymore!
