freeflir29 0 #1 April 27, 2005 To NOT live ANYWHERE near a freakin Helo pad! I only get peace and quiet about 2-3 hours a night. Then I still have the fighters over head some nights. I'm complaining to the management. Can't we have a more quiet war zone?

Helicopters, aircraft, drunken skydivers at night People knocking on the door at all hours.(It's ok with me if it happens to be some handsome man, then just feel like its Christmas!) Bwahhhh now where did I put that red ribbon?
Rebecca 0 #8 April 27, 2005 Suck it up cupcake!! You'll get used to it. I lived a block and a half from the flightline at AMC HQ (Scott AFB) with EVERYTHING landing there at all times of the day and night. After a week or four, I slept like a baby. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

freeflir29 0 #10 April 27, 2005 QuoteI lived a block and a half from the flightline at AMC HQ Yeah...........I went to Airman Leadership school there. I laughed at the IDIOCY of someone placing the school RIGHT off the end of the runway. Everytime a jet took off the instructor would have to stop talking for 10-15 seconds. I was there every once in awhile from early 95 to late 97. That was my admin support base while I was stationed over at Ft. Campbell. I do miss that GREAT titty bar they had there. Amazon 7 #23 April 27, 2005 QuoteANYplace had to have been better than Sheppard!! How about the three story cement block barracks that was closest to the flight line at Homestead AFB in the early 70's. My room faced the flight line. It was where they transitioned new pilots from their T-38's at UPT to the F-4 which was the front line fighter at the time.. now THAT was one noisy gawd dayum airplane. WE had other things there from time to time as well that would just cause everything in the room to oscillate. Blackbird takeoffs are amazingly noisy. Yeah yeah.. I am old and decrepit... they dont fly those any more.
DrunkMonkey 0 #24 April 27, 2005 QuoteYeah yeah.. I am old and decrepit... they dont fly those any more. Actually, we do. We just pull the pilot out, make them drones, and shoot missiles at them over the Gulf of Mexico. We also sold a lot of them to the Germans and the Greeks.
