peacefuljeffrey 0 #1 April 24, 2005 I'm LOVING the funky, retro, art-deco Fritz Lang style production design of this movie! Anyone else here enjoy Sky Captain? riggerrob 643 #2 April 24, 2005 Enjoyed it too! The ultimate 1930s, art deco airplane is the Martin Mars water bomber. I love watching those graceful giants fly over during forest fire season.

I'm with Quade on this one. Defnitely a big-screen experience, and the first film to have NO SETS, no minatures at all - everything was Green-Screen and CG. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." sundevil777 102 #7 April 24, 2005 Ordinary people's reviews of the movie on Netflix are definitely lousy. Ebert and a couple of professional reviewers liked it, but I'm not convinced it is worth a try.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

Clite 0 #9 April 24, 2005 I am going to have to get on netflick and fix that. I just rented the movie from netflick and loved it.
PhreeZone 20 #10 April 25, 2005 I enjoyed it from a purely technical and visial experience. In terms of a story line... I think most 5th graders could write something that equals it. Absolutly stunning visually. Art-Deco styling to the max. That is the world that would have existed if all the comic books of the early 30's came true.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Aww, thanks guys, for being sad for me... No, I totally hear ya -- I know how much different and better movies can be on the big screen. The only problem is, lately the multiplexes have certain theaters that are full size and certain others are puny little dinky shits. You never really know if you'll be watching the movie on, essentially, a large-screen t.v. I'm surprised at the folks who said here that it sucked. I wsonder if the expectations were off-the-mark. I could easily watch this movie and say, "Oh, geez, amphibous submarine-airplanes? Come on!" but instead I'm suspending a bit more disbelief than usual and watching this like an old Buck Rogers kinda thing, and as such it really is enjoyable. The performances, technology, and action are all over-the-top, comic-book style. It's good for what it is. Blue skies, -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind...
