KMonster 0 #1 April 17, 2005 Alright guys, Dexter and I aren't just talking about it, we're actually registering for our first adventure race coming up May 3rd! We've been training hard and it should be a ton of fun, but we need a team name. During adventure races, you get can get pretty dirty so we thought "Mud Monsters" and "Mud Pirates" were appropriate. "Mojo Monsters" comes from my love for anything that has to do with "Mojo" since the NPS took my Mojo canopy (and it's just a cool word...). "Raw Feat" is because your feet have a high potential for turning into hamburger during a tough race, and it's a feat to finish. "Masoquest" comes from the words "masochist" since much of adventure racing has to do with inflicting pain and suffering on yourself (no sexual ties thank you). The "quest" part is because you're on oneSo...tell us what you think! We would love to hear it, and feel free to suggest anything else too. Thanks guys! Katie. Edit: I forgot to type about Raw Feat. hookitt 1 #4 April 17, 2005 how about a slight variation. "Chad and Katie the bad ass MoJo Monsters" Or The Pink Petunias Or The Red Sox Or Faster than you Hmmm... I'm not really coming up with anything. Pickled Herring Fabulous Bush Pirate and Katie Katie and her faithful minion That's a good start. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... KMonster 0 #5 April 17, 2005 Nice Tim, hehe. I like "faster than you" but we don't really know if we're going to get our asses handed to us... we did think of "Which Way's North?" That's probably more appropriate. We're so stoked for the race though!
hookitt 1 #6 April 17, 2005 ok.. how about this.... On the back of the shirt ... Faster Than You On the front of the shirt ... Not Faster than youMy grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

skycat 0 #10 April 17, 2005 Which race are you doing? If you guys needs some tips or insight into the sport PM hooknswoop, he has been racing for 2 years now, and his team took 12th out of 45 in Moab 2 weeks ago. Also, if you need some help on what the support crew needs to do PM me since I've been running his support crew and can have them in and out of the transition area in 10 minutes. (if they want to be in and out that fast that is )Fly it like you stole it!

DexterBase 1 #17 April 22, 2005 Okay, Thanks to everyone that voted. We need to send in our registration information tomorrow so unless we ger a bunch of new votes, it looks like we're going with "Raw Feat" Any last second votes? edit: typo
Zenister 0 #18 April 22, 2005 how about "bet we get down before you" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
skycat 0 #19 April 22, 2005 Quotehow about "bet we get down before you" LOL....at the Moab race there is a 250+ ft repel, he was talking about the psychological damage to the team on the ropes if you went base jumping past them.Fly it like you stole it!
DexterBase 1 #20 April 23, 2005 Kmonster and I talked about that too. What a cool way to shortcut the ropes section. I think some races would actually permit you to jump, but carrying a BASE rig on the course would definitely offset any advantage of jumping down, except, the massive amount of cool points you'd get from other racers and getting to make a BASE jump. I wonder...
bob.dino 1 #21 April 23, 2005 How much does a BASE rig weigh? Oh, and if the rappel is right at the start of the course, it'd be a no-brainer
Dumpster 0 #22 April 23, 2005 I've always thought a name like Idiot Bastard Sons would be a cool name for a hardcore punk band. (In the Sex Pistols/ Clash genre-) Don't know about Adventure Racing - But a name like that, it would defintely draw at least a little attention, - eh? Just a little rubber biscuit to throw against the wall and see if it bounces back - - (Cuz' if it don't, then ya gotta go hungry!) Easy Does It
skycat 0 #23 April 24, 2005 QuoteHow much does a BASE rig weigh? Oh, and if the rappel is right at the start of the course, it'd be a no-brainer Oh it's never at the start, they always have it somewhere in the middle so you have to carry your harness, bener, and repel device 20 miles up hill.
