I'd put one on in a heartbeat.

He had a nitrous backfire probably while burning out. I also bet that he didn't have a two step installed as well as it being untuned.

I have played with NOS throughout the years. I ran a 175 shot plate system on a fox body Mustang Back in the 90's when Stangs were the thing. It was a low 10 sec ride with the funny stuff. Very hard on parts.

You never do a burn out on the juice.

Burn out
Flip switch to arm system
Purge system (get all the vapor out of the line)
Launch car on NOS and watch the back bumper drag the ground.

I have witnessed some pretty nasty back fires. One time at the track in the pits a guy was tweeking on his 9 second stang. Next thing I know the hood was 20 feet in the air from the back fire. Pretty wild shit indeed.

I drag raced a carb'd 306 fox body on the hose in the late 90's, ran 10's as well.

I had a crazy fast 99 R-1. I had a ZO-6 just like the one that caught on fire at the start of this post. I am not sure if we have ever met before. If we have, WAZUP?????? I have pics of some of my rides in my gallery.

FOX bodies are awesome, and will always be a sweet looking ride in my eyes.

There was a guy in Sherman when I was growing named Doug Mangrum...I think. My dad worked with his dad. He had the fastest stang in the nation in his class at times, a week here and a week there. Finally at one point he had to move past the fox body to drop the time any more. He worked for a dealer and they bankrolled him big time, with a decked out f350 rig, etc.

Anyway, point is fox bodies rock.

Awesome, I didn't know he was still in it. I used to hang out in Bob Utter Ford's garage and watch him put the new stang together. I bought my first ever used car from him, he is/was a salesguy.
One day he pulled up to a light next to me in the dealers ?Boss? Stang (I think it was boss, they were numbered) and I could feel the ground rumblle through my seat.
I never watched him run, but he has some sweet greenlight pics in his office. Glad to hear he is still doing it.

I have been out of the loop for a while. I used to run True Street at the Fun Ford weekends. It is pretty impressive to watch 9 and 10 Second cars drive 50 miles on one tank of fuel and go heads up. I think they are busting into the high 8's now. I know back in the mid/late 90's they were running mid 9's. My car was pretty hard on parts. I sometimes think I am going to get back into the racing. It sure was a lot of fun. Skydiving and flying have pretty much consumed my life now.

My Z with 1000 miles bone stock was running 12.15@117 on street tires. I had a few bolt ons and got it to run 11.86@119. That is one car I really miss.

Well it is a porsche (I think he has multiple videos online I heard via net lore) on the Nurburgring track on the left side of your screen, then a played in Gran Tourismo 4 racing the track on the right side.

The can drive like mad....tires squeeling like a banshee. Some insane powered corners. Makes me want to go track.

I have been up there to watch the CMRA races. My friend used to race CMRA and tried to get me involved. It looked like a lot of fun. I never got on the track though.
