windcatcher 0 #1 April 7, 2005 Yipeeeee! I'm going backpacking for the first time this weekend! It will be so great to be in the outdoors, camping under the stars, being near an open flame . Last night I went to an outdoor/sporting goods store, I could have spent all night in there. There are so many cool things to buy that you can bring along on a camping trip. I bought a few dehydrated meals, a mess kit, an emergency heat kit/stove, and snacks of course. What sorts of useful devices have you found to bring along camping? edit: besides the usual tent, food, clothing, back, etc?
