My snake is eating again!

Recommended Posts

i'm so happy! I have a corn snake approx. 5 feet long. She finally ate a mouse last night. It was the first thing she has eaten since December.:o

Even though her cage is climate-controlled, with a lamp on a timer, she somehow knows it is winter & stops eating. Doesn't hibernate, but also doesn't move around as much. And I will occasionally offer her a small rat, but she won't eat it. If I put a rat or mouse in her cage alive, she will kill it & then just leave it there.

But last week it finally got warm & sunny for the first time, & I took her out in the backyard for a little slither in the sun. She had a good time, & last night I offered her a large mouse alive. She grabbed it aggressively & constricted it. Went back a half-hour later & the mouse was gone!!B| So after four long months of no food, she is now back to eating again.:)

Pepper is single again... his mate passed on early in the year(snow corn)
However he might have isues with a long distance relationship.
Do you keep any other snakes?

nope, just this one.

tell you what: just slide Pepper into one of those poster mailing tubes & fedex him here to maryland. I'll make sure he gets laid & then fedex him back.:DB|

I could even mail you some of the babies after they hatch!

Pipper our bearded dragon did the same thing. For 3 months he didn't move from his hide then one day a few weeks ago he woke up and wanted food....NOW!!! Bad thing was we didn't have anything crickets, or greens or anything, so mad dash to the reptile store to keep him happy.
