heidihagen 0 #1 March 23, 2005 another thread got me thinking about this. last week it was 1.93/gal, but tonight i paid 2.00/gal -- i know its a lot higher in california, so i'm curious... how much are you paying to fill up and how often? i live in houston, tx and have to fill up about once a week @ 2.00/gallon!!! (about $50)i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

freeflir29 0 #4 March 23, 2005 Georgia normally has fairly cheap gas.........it was $2.07 when I went by earlier. I'm sort of unemployed at the moment so I only drive when I want to. Glad I'm not driving 60 miles round trip to the airport 5 days a week anymore.
SkydiveNFlorida 0 #5 March 23, 2005 The cheapest i've found for 89octane is 2.15/g, normal is upward of 2.20/g here in the Fort Lauderdale area:( Sure glad I don't have your car/truck, though. I get nearly 30mpg, wish I got more. I still fill up every 4-5 days, tho. -A
monkycndo 0 #6 March 23, 2005 I'm live in the SF bay area and kind of stuck. My car takes premium and I'm lucky to have"cheap" gas near work. I'm paying $2.47. I have seen as high as $2.89 for premium. Time to start looking at hybrids since I can't use a bike for work. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Lindsey 0 #10 March 23, 2005 I put regular unleaded in my car today, because I couldn't stand to pay 2.29/gallon for Supreme. However, I did put Supreme in my bike (/me does the double tit push). It does get 50 mpg vs 27 in my car, though..... It's only going to get worse. My car is 14 years old. I think that once I start work I'll buy a new Ford Escape hybrid. Then my car will get as good gas mileage as the new bike (/me does the double tit push again....) Peace~ linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Evelyn 0 #11 March 23, 2005 I drive a Corvette so have to use the premium gas. Last time I filled it cost me over 40$. These gas prices suck. WFFC 1 #17 March 23, 2005 Last time I filled up my truck was Jan 21st. Granted, I haven't driven it much since then, nor have I seen it much either. But it did still have a full tank last time I saw it... ----- ~~~Michael
kansasskydiver 0 #18 March 23, 2005 $2.19 a gallon here cause it's spring break and everyone got kicked outta the dorms. I honestly don't remember the last time I filled up my car. I don't drive much unless it's the DZ, and even then I usually carpool with my roommate so we can take the dog, her kennel, all our gear etc. I might spend 20-30 a month on gas, but again only cause I don't work, the bars and within walking distance and everything else is within a 5 min drive<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! GTAVercetti 0 #20 March 23, 2005 This is not to anyone particular, but I had to choose someone to reply to. Hey everyone, welcome to Europe. mx757 4 #22 March 23, 2005 I used to fill my F-150 Ford up every week at $45.00 back when fuel prices were $1.40 a gallon..but I bought a 2005 VW Jetta TDI diesel 5 speed last fall, and now I fill up roughly every 3 weeks 11 may 12 gallons at $2.09 per gallon for diesel I just drive it around town.. seems to always get 45MPG or better... better than those hybirds. rwieder 0 #24 March 23, 2005 i know everyone hates high gas pump prices, but it is a statistically proven fact that when oil and gas prices are high it's a sure sign of a growing and healthy economy. my ol' daddy used to tell me "son, if a hamburger costs $10.00 USD and you are working and have a good job, it doesn't matter. On the other hand if the hamburger costs $10.00 USD and your not working, then you have a problem" I make my living designing and drilling oil and gas wells, but my remarks have nothing to do with the price of oil and gas. OPEC has stepped up production and prices did fall last 24 hours, we'll keep a watch on it. Edit to add: Brent Crude Oil : $55.15/BBL -1.56% Light Crude Oil : $56.03/BBL -2.55% Natural Gas : $7.37/MMBtu -1.09% Unleaded Gasoline : $1.60/gal -1.87% Stats taken from Here -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
kelel01 1 #25 March 23, 2005 I'm gonna sound like a grandma here, but I distinctly remember one summer when gas prices were $0.76 per gallon. (!) Now it's around $1.90 (or was it $1.97)? Whatever . . . it's REALLY HIGH for my (red)neck of the woods.
