AggieDave 6 #52 March 30, 2005 Ok, everyone here had a lot of opinions, they were all wrong. (Except for FFF, that is a cool car). However, the coolest car is a 1302 1973 SuperBeetle. I happen to know because I own one.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Frenchy68 0 #56 March 30, 2005 Coolest car ever. The first one I had. 1974 DAF Variomatic 55. Forward, neutral and reverse. I took it to 90kph in reverse one day on a closed highway. The ultimate chick magnet! Edited to add: much cooler than the Smorsche! boinky 0 #57 March 30, 2005 Yeah, wouldn't we all? But even if you COULD get your hands on one of those, and it's doubtful you could, have you any idea how much it would set you back? High 10's...maybe and that is only if the car is pretty light. My camaro (picture earlier in this thread) puts down 430 hp to the tires ( yes we have a chassis dyno), and it will bearly squeek into the 10's... Sorry I'm off my soap box now...sweet ass car though!

kallend 2,063 #73 March 31, 2005 QuoteThanks. Does she need much work to keep her going? Does modern lead-free petrol cause problems? Very reliable, except for the fuel pump (not original, made in Taiwan) which jams from time to time. I use a gasoline additive to compensate for the absence of lead, potentially a source of valve seat wear.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. JJ269J 0 #74 March 31, 2005 QuoteWhat does your car weight??? 2800lbs? Nope, 3200lbs with me in it. Most good passes are low 11's, but in good air it can break in the 10's. Most 60ft times for low 11's are in the 1.5 sec range.
