Yeah I played clarinnet, bass clarinet, trombone, piano.
Was in 2 choirs and a cheerleader.
(Shhhhhhh don't tell anybody)
One day at band camp.....:P

Hmmm.

Well, I was in 2 choirs and toured for three years with a folk trio (it was the Sixties, gimme a break, ok?) and was in touring choir in college. Played guitar a bit then, but can't even form a simple chord nowadays, even though the old Harmony Monterey leans against the wall behind me as I type this.

TLML played alto sax from age 8 through college, first chair all four years in HS, same in the jazz band and has numerous firsts in state in everything from solos to reed choir.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

I played piano starting around maybe age 8 and quit when I was 14. I started playing trombone at the beginning of sophomore year of high school and did all-county/all-state/etc and ended up going to a music conservatory. I was lucky enough to enjoy being a professional musician for a while - I've done studio work (cds and recordings), shows, clubs, hotels, been a featured soloist/clinician in other countries... phew... Then skydiving came into the picture and I've re-evaluated my priorities and I've shifted from being musician and part-time computer programmer to full-full-time computer programmer and very-part time musician. Hey, I get to jump more :)

I wasn't a Band Geek - i was much worse. I was a total Orchestra Geek for all my high School. :$Yup, i'm proud of it. Symphony Orchestra in the morning, Chamber after school, Manhattan String Ensemble on the Weekends, Gold Orchestra on Saturday Mornings - Salina Symphony monday nights. I'm like a marching band geek with a stringed instrument and a bow. :D

Yup.

Still am, actually.

Played lead trumpet on the field, 1st part top symphonic band and lead in the jazz band while in HS and play lead trumpet in the TAMU Jazz Band now.

That's the trumpet stuff...I dabble in harmonica and guitar.B|

Music geek from early grade school, band geek from the 5th grade. Played brass, percussion, sang in the chiors. Ended up getting a degree in Music ( concentration in composition) taught/freelanced for 25 years. Decided people had sufferred for my art long enough so I went into computers. I went from band geek to network geek. Haven't touched my ax since 1998. I still have some of my music history books around in case I can't sleep.

At least you play drums, that's pretty cool. I played flute and piccolo and was drum major for a year. Started in 6th grade, always 1st or 2nd chair made All-City, 1st chair All-Region, and All-State band. I would have done it all 4 years of high school, I loved band, but I went into home school after my sophomore year. Still hung out with the band at football games, though!;)

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.
