lightningbugirl 0 #1 March 27, 2005 I can't seem to move the one side of my face. It's been over twelve hours (around 4AM when I noticed it) and I called Dr. and he said to just get rest and wait and come in first thing tomorrow morning. I have a slight headache but otherwise nothing is uncomfortable or hurts. My face on left side is droopy though. Anyone have this before? I still may go into emergency. It's freaking me out. You know, I'm not vain or anything but it's my face.
AggieDave 6 #2 March 27, 2005 If you're worried about it and you have insurance, get your ass into the E-room and quick dicking around with the internet and your Doc.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

antifnsocial 0 #4 March 27, 2005 Sounds like your silly Dr. doesn't want to be bugged on a holiday. Screw that!! It's more than just your face Gwen, it's your health. If I was there I'd drive you. Call a friend to meet you there. If you have a bad feeling it's for a reason. Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean. I cannot understand why people waste time asking a bunch of medical questions on a skydiving forum. You're essentially asking Joe Blow out in Space if they think you're okay. And are you really going to take the advice you recieve from here? THIS IS YOUR BODY AND HEALTH YOU ARE MESSING WITH! Yes, we chat about a wide range of things up here but if you think you need stiches, have an infection, are bleeding profusely or cannot feel a crucial part of your body.....GO TO THE DOC!! Post your pics and tell your cool stories after you have been checked out and are okay. I am just so tired of seeing these types of threads. Regardless what the doc said, numbness is a sign of trouble. Go get checked out. You are right though, can anyone call her? JUDYJ 0 #16 March 28, 2005 How many people actually TALK with their doctor? You talk to the staff person in his/her office. And believe me that advice is only as good as the person who answers the phone. Human error is just as great with those who triage those phones as anywhere else on earth. AND DOCTORS, or whoever you talk with, are not 100% right all the time...especially over the phone. Bottom line..you aren't comfortable with what is happening with YOUR body then seek medical attention until someone answers questions. IT IS YOUR BODY~~~ IF you are going to be Stupid - you better be tough!
Muenkel 0 #17 March 28, 2005 I hope by now you're in the ER. What's the worst that can happen? They say to you wtf are you doing here, there is nothing wrong with you. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
Nightingale 0 #18 March 28, 2005 There are a lot of things that can cause that. First thing that came to my mind was Bell's Palsy, but a stroke might do that too. http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/DS/00168.html
happythoughts 0 #19 March 28, 2005 Another cause is migraines. My nephew gets migraines from eating chocolate, caffeine products, or alchohol. So, he does none of those things. One symptom that he gets is that one side of his face goes numb and the arm on that side also goes numb.
lauras 0 #20 March 28, 2005 It may be Bell's Palsy. As everyone has said, please go to the ER as soon as you can, or at the very least, see your doctor first thing in the AM. My brother had Bell's Palsy about 5 years ago. An ear infection went beserk and a nerve running along the side of his face was affected, leaving him with paralysis on one side of his face. Please get it checked out and let me know if you need any further information. Good luck!
Brigitte36 0 #21 March 28, 2005 She has to have gone to the er or dr. because she hasn't posted since the first post. I hope she's okay. If it's serious they probably kept her for tests at least!
