It probably isn't a stroke if you are under 35-40 yrs old. There are several things that can be going on and you should go to the Hospital/ Urgent Care by you. Bells Palsy sounds like what is going on and is very common, which is treatable by antibiotics. It is a virus/bacteria that effects the facial nerves. The worse case is a brain tumor, which is probably a very small chance that is whats going on. A stroke you would have much more then a partial paralysis of your face. Go get checked out and let us know what the diagnosis is.

Ahhhh, the medical experts of DZ.com to the rescue again.

Lessons:

1) It's your body...if you are freaked out, get it checked out. If you have the time to post on here, you obviously aren't that scared.

2) 99.9% of people have no fucking clue how to answer a question like this, yet still try anyway. Much like a tandem student telling you how you should handle 2-out in the incident forum. (This is not directed at any one person in this thread, cause I feel the flames a'rising)

Sounds like Bell's Palsy. Cranial Nerve VII feeds 1/2 the face (one nerve on each side). If it zonks out, your face droops, your eyelid doesn't blink so well. Get to your doc asap. Make sure you tape your eye at night and put artificial tear ointment (not the drops, the stuff in the mini toothpaste type tubes).

Bell's is benign, but you also need to rule out other neuro problems first (mini stroke, etc.) before writing it off as Bell's.

I am finally home from hospital. I'm sorry if I seemed stupid. I guess I didn't want to over react or be hypochondriac. I wasn't in any real pain at all. The Dr. on call had really told me to wait and that it didn't seem serious. I went in right away after posting and was kept overnight. I have to go back for one more night for tests. It probably is something minor like Bells but they want to make sure. I seemed to have really irritated a lot of people and for that I apologize.

I was a bit irritated since your thread was only one of several that I have read recently along the same lines. I'm glad to hear that you did go to the doc right away instead of waiting for medical advice from this forum.

Not even! Was wondering what happened to you all day. Glad you got off the computer and went in to the hospital. If the doc that blew you off was so right in his phone-diagnosis they probably wouldn't have kept you overnight. Hope the tests come back okay.
