Oingo Boingo

With googling, do you know who the lead singer is and what he's truely known for around the world besides a cool '80s band?

There's one thing in particular that he's done that literally EVERYONE under 50 should recognize...D'oh!:D

Yes he was and that movie is on TV right now (that's what got me thinking).

He's much more famous then you think, though...inface million and millions of people have been influenced by him even if they don't know it.

Dude... I have been an OB fan since they were call "The Mystic knights of Oingo Boingo." lol

I will refrain from answering any Oingo Boingo questions as it would not be fair to others and seriously kill this thread. :P

oh yeah I guess I forgot to mention my lithograph of "Dark at the End of the Tunnel" that is signed by every member of the band.

Danny Elfman is probably one of the most talented composers/arrangers of the 20th/21st century. He is very intelligent and gifted and perhaps the nicest musician I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. By the way, he is also a gifted artist. . .

Yup. That's what I was looking for. A lot of people don't put Dan Elfman from Oingo Boingo together with Danny Elfman the composer. Literally everyone knows one of his works, if they know it or not.

I figured as much. I had the pleasure of sort of getting to know him through a very good friend of mine that owned a night club here in the LA area. It was just prior to the real take off of his career outside of Oingo Boingo. Truly a delightful person. Its always amazing when I am watching something I will hear something that peaks my interest and then watch the credits to see who the composer is. . .in most cases it will turn out to be him.

Oh yeah...

Danny Elfman. Now composes movie music, an' did the Simpson's theme (and Tales From the Crypt).

Movies such as everything and anything done by Tim Burton (Pee Wee Herman's movies, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorshands.) Spiderman 2. Mission Impossible 2? That movie with Deniro chasing down Charles Grodin who was a mob accountant. His first movie sound track was for his brother's movie, and Danny played the devil. But they were the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo back then.

My family is commanded to play Dead Man's Party at my funeral.

And if I get to Google him, or merely go to my music collection, I can add a ton more.

Did you know he just had a classical piece performed at Carnegie? It had been commissioned, and the premiere was in February.

spoiler alert: Some movies he's composed for are referenced.

Anything else?
