NWFlyer 2 #1 March 14, 2005 ...now I'm the licensed jumper from hell. Finally finished up my "A" requirements on Friday afternoon (and yes, I provided lots of for the post-Safety Day BBQ). Special shout-out to everyone at Snohomish who encouraged me, mocked me, gave me obnoxious nicknames, reintroduced me to Fandango, groped me, bought me shots, quizzed me, stalked me, counseled me, mentored me, laughed at me, laughed with me, mourned with me, welcomed me into the family, and basically made my student progression a heck of a lot of fun despite my (many) frustrating moments. Particular thanks go to my instructors who didn't give me the bowling speech back in September, even though I know they were tempted! And now, back to my regulary-scheduled post-whoring."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke

NWFlyer 2 #15 March 15, 2005 Quote 26 years in the sport... I'd say you showed them! On Wednesday night, I saw the two instructors who were involved in my two early, scary jumps that got me really close to the bowling speech. They were standing next to each other, so I put one arm around each and said "Back in September, did either of you think I'd be standing here one jump away from my A License?" The sad part? Neither of them hesitated before saying, in unison, "NO!" I think they underestimated how stubborn I can be when I really want something. NWFlyer 2 #21 March 15, 2005 Karen, with the possible exception of groping me (I think so far you've only groped me in Todd's porn fantasies), I think you've done just about everything else on this list AND been an exceptional packer (and incredibly patient in teaching my remedial ass to pack, too!). All kidding aside, congrats Krisanne! I'm definitely envious that you are getting to enjoy this mild winter while I recover from my shoulder ouchie.
