jceman 1 #1 January 20, 2005 Well folk, I've decided after much kicking and screaming to gather funds for the tent once again. I don't know if TLML and I will be able to attend this year, though we will certainly try. As WFFC mentioned in his post on the attending list thread, this is not cheap and we need to get money early. Last year the tent alone was $799, add the money for couches, supplies (tarps, stakes, lights, etc.) and it is my opinion that we will need around $1200 this year. Sunshine has much of the goodies needed and if you ask nicely, I am sure she will bring them to Rantoul with her; regardless, there will be items we need this year hence the higher figure. For those of you who do not know, the convention requires payment for the tent up front, hence the need for me to start fund-raising now. Any amount will do, however larger amounts cause larger grins on this end. If you are comfortable using Paypal, click here to make your contribution. If you prefer to send money to me directly, email me here at dropzone.com or PM me for snail mail addy. Thanks in advance and I hope to see your smiling faces at WFFC 2005. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
ChasingBlueSky 0 #2 January 20, 2005 Jack, Thanks again for doing this yet again. The larger tent last year was the perfect size and it really helped when the rain came down. Hope things get better for you two and you can make it up here. Can we send you a money order to your attention via the store? Who should we make it out to?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... sunshine 2 #3 January 20, 2005 I was gonna offer to have you send me the money and take care of buying the couches etc. But there's no point in offering since you WILL be there. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 January 20, 2005 While the larger tent was nice and spacious, I truthfully think it was overkill. I never encountered more than about 15 people at one time inside last year and think we had more than enough room the year before. My vote is for the standard size tent, but I will donate either way. mnealtx 0 #9 January 20, 2005 No, I can't get vacation time away this year - bummer, too, cuz my birthday is during the boogie. Still have to get my license (hopefully May/June, when I *CAN* take vacation) and get the rest of my gear together - which I should have done by the time I go home... I'm hoping to make it next year, though! Looking forward to meeting everyone and particpating in the general drunkeness and debauchery... Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. flyangel2 2 #10 January 20, 2005 Wow, donation and he won't even be there to enjoy the tent. Chuck I agree with you, but since I didn't hang out at the tent much, maybe for about 15 mins one night, I think the smaller tent is best. mnealtx 0 #11 January 20, 2005 QuoteWow, donation and he won't even be there to enjoy the tent. Sure, why not? I'm not needing to save money for $65 biplane , balloon and heli jumps, so I can afford to help out some.... Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. The consensus seemed to be that bigger was indeed better and unless the majority of the users change their minds, I think we'll go with the larger tent. freeflir29 0 #25 February 11, 2005 I thought the big tent was THE POOP. It gave plenty of room for packing on one side and hanging out on the other. When does WFFC need the money? I just MIGHT have some extra cash lying around this year that I can spare. Sorry I won't be there to enjoy the smiles but 2006 is looking good.
