I'll bite. Although I've never met him, I really appreciate knowing Quade. Throughout my months on this board, every now and then he chimes up and says something very helpful and thoughtful to me, and I've enjoyed that. Hopefully someday I'll get to make a jump with "the world's most boring skydiver". ;) Cheers.

Edit: Oooh...staying on the theme of people I haven't met ~ AggieDave and ChopChop are two other jumpers I have appreciated knowing through these forums very much.

Another one: billvon. I met billvon at Rantoul this year. I went to Brian Germain's canopy seminar 'cause I wanted to learn how to stop scrapping up my knees when there is no wind. Anywho, for whatever reason, Brian wasn't there on time. Bill came up and sat down beside me. I don't think we realized who each other was at the time, but he was very cool giving me some good advice on canopy flight while we listened to these two stoned chicks talk about skysurfing. Billvon....very cool. B| I also appreciate his lasting passion for the sport. At 3,000+ jumps, he was right there beside me hammering out those hop and pops out of the PAC on one of those shitty weather days. Bill leads by example, which is cool.

I mean, the girl bellydances!

I just bought the prettiest hip scarf that I really want to post, too!!!!

Anyways, wow...I'm stunned.

Okay, time to write about someone that's outside of my circle of friends.

I really like Shotgun. She's funny, and she's really cool. I only got to meet her briefly while in Perris, but I hope I get to hang out with her a little more my next trip there. I don't have many other specifics, but she has gotten me to laugh out loud while at work a few times! :)

Kris is such a sweetheart in person. He was always friendly to everyone at WFFC. He has a big smile and laugh at all times, and he always made me feel welcome, even though he probably doesn't even know it. It made a big impact on me, especially since I didn't always feel too much a part of everything at WFFC, since I was grounded and using my cane and all. He was always there to offer a smile or chocolate or a friendly word. It was nothing too dramatic, but it made a huge difference to me.

The best part of all is that he wasn't being false or trying too hard to impress me or anyone else. It seemed that this was just Kris' nature...to be a truly friendly person to everyone. I was so pleasantly surprised by him, especially since he was one of those people who for some reason I had never really PMed or posted to much. Frankly, I had not even read too many of his posts prior to meeting him, but what a nice guy! :)

:o:$:$:$:$:$:)
Whoa! Wow....ummm....yeah....just wow. :$

Thanks, Rosa, you're a sweetheart and I'm glad I was able to leave good memories with you!:)

For my pick, I'm going to go with Hookitt. Timmae always has great advice to give, whether it's in the forums or if I'm just picking his brain via IM. He's never condescending (well, not that much;)), and you can tell he still has passion for the sport. :)

VIKING has always been that smiling "Good Kid" in the group that always has good vibes and positive attitude with us. He is always sharing his events in life that people would share with "Family".;)
dzdiva a person that I feel is a friend. Seeing her smile is priceless and seeing her progress in her jumping alone is worth the trip to that DZ.

There are a lot of people on this thread I haven't met yet that I really want to meet, but I'm going to narrow it down to just one person.

I want to meet you Skymama. You seem like such a very nice and down to earth person, especially since you're good at putting up with my pissy PMs...that takes a LOT of patience. I have a lot of respect for someone that is that kind and caring that also has the patience to deal with assholes (like me).

Thank you for being you.:)

Pretty cool idea...

First let me say I'm a super-techie that has been at Rantoul the last three years, yet I haven't been by the DZ.COM tent. I've also been to the DZ.COM boogie the last two years, but I generally end up hanging out with my ALREADY FRIENDS friends...

That said, VanillaSkyGirl is a person I notice wherever she happens to be. I'm not a stalker or anything;), but she's quite nice to look at.

DiverDriver seems to speak from wanting everyone to have a better time skydiving, or flying. He doesn't seem to get caught up in trying to put meaning to things, just states the facts, quite impartially.

SKyMama we've never met but I almost died the firat time I jumped the rig you sold my buddy Kenny (search my posts), you remember the pink and navy Infinity with the Hornet 190...Not your fault at all but I won't forget your name.

I'm sure there are many more, but I'll stop for now.

Vicki (vt1977). Met her briefly at eloy but she made quite an impression. She's a super sweet girl. Wish i had gotten to know her better. I've exchanged a few PMs with her and hope to visit her sometime soon.

Awww… :$ thanks Sunny! :)
I’ll look forward to seeing you again in Eloy this year! I hope we get to jump together this time. :)
I have 3 people I’d like to mention:

1. Sunshine – it was cool meeting her at Eloy last year, she’s a lot of fun! I hope we get to jump together at Eloy this year! B|

2. VanillaSkyGirl (Rosa) – what a lovely sweet person! I first met her at Eloy and then again at Perris at Easter and she’s just a lovely thoughtful person. Hope to jump with her at Eloy this year too! :)
3. Nightingale (Kris) – Kris was an absolute star with helping me out with directions from the airport etc. before my trip to SoCal in April and it was great to meet her at Perris very briefly. I hope to get to meet her for a bit longer next time! :)

Thank-you, Dave, I appreciate it. I didn't think you liked me at all because of the pissy pm's you send me! I've never thought of you as an asshole...a handful, maybe, but not an asshole. ;) I've never met you or Morgan, but I think she's getting a good man who will treat her well. :)
Tfelber...I must have missed that post about you jumping my rig, how horrible! :S What a small world though, eh? I'm glad you were ok!
She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man,
because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Thanks dude!

Well, I consider myself to be a wanna-be welder/fabricator. I make stuff, but it doesn't always turn out quite right.:$ Someday I'll get it really good, but you've got to start somewhere I guess.B|

Hmmm...limiting it to dz.commers that I haven't met?

AggieDave - cause we've got a lot in common. He'd be fun to hang with.
QuickDraw - he hasn't been posting lately, but his sense of humor is great.
Other unnamed people - who send me PMs and we chat about stuff. I enjoy that a lot. B|

Rantoul was great this year. Got to hang with some old dz.com buddies and make a lot of new ones. If I see someone again and don't remember them... I guess they'll understand. ;)

Kris - a good smile and a positive attitude. Great to meet ya.

You say that now, but share a team room with him in eloy, and you'll never be the same. :D J/k, adrian is a great guy.

Deva by far. Badass flyer, and also a kick ass gal! Came up to me out of the blue at Skyfest and took me on a chicky tracking dive (Presecond tracking dive!). I had honestly gotten a little 'down' because of all the fun things going on that I didn't feel I could do because of my low jump numbers / experience. I was watching everyone do all these fun jumps, and jumping out of helicopters, etc, and I couldn't. Was a little depressing. SO yeah, I Just really appreciated her reaching out to a new comer whom she didn't know. I told her when she approached me that I would love to, but I only had 39 jumps and I had never been on a tracking dive. She said, "That's okay, we'll focus the jump on you." SHe gave me a few pointers in the packing room and I really learned a lot from her! Then myself, deva, & megster went on our sunset tracking dive. I just thought it was really amazing that someone whom didn't even know me would go jump with me knowing I couldn't do anything really advanced, and we still had an amazing time! THANKS AGAIN GIRL!
