Hold Altitude for Cruise Missle,

Recommended Posts

Jumped at Skydive California City today. Which is located just north of Edwards Air Force Base.
I was on the 5th load up around 11:00am Just as we were about to open the door to spot, the Pilot yells back to wait. "were on a hold altitude and heading for an incoming Cruise Missle" so we fly for about 10 minutes got the ok and turned onto jump run.

What's the strangest thing you had to hold for?

Definitely a case of beer for this!

Kansas, a nearby (unoccupied by POTUS) pass by Air Force One, coming from Boeing Wichita.

Then you had a nearby pass by 28000 or 29000. The aircraft does not get the designation Air Force One unless the president is on board. Air Force Two with the VP.

Didn't really get held up, but I looked out to spot once right as a four ship of C-130s passed over the DZ at probably 4000'.

I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF

This I know, as I'm a USAF Captain. I was just avoiding tech-speak.
