Thanks Lisa. Prayers continuing. I have a very good feeling about his recovery. I honestly think he's going to make a quicker recovery than even the doctor's think. It's just a feeling I have.

You say he's frustrated with the vent tube and I can't even imagine what that is like, but can you tell if he has a real sense of what has happened over the last two weeks?

Visitors are still not allowed or encouraged. The nurses are sticking pretty much to the 2 family visitors at a time. A few exceptions have been made thankfully but not many.

Eric is responding and he frowns a lot with the frustration of not being able to communicate his confusion. I'm sure between the drugs and surgeries confusion has become a natural state. When he is awake the tubes are a big frustration because he tends to bite down on them trying to figure out what it is down his throat. We won't know what all he remembers from that day until he can actually talk to us.

I'd love to be a part of Eric's recovery if he comes to the Rehab Center where I work. I believe, though, that he'll be transferring to a place closer to home when he can.

and getting suctioned after you are d/c'd from the vent- that is abosolutely horrible(been thru it). It does get better...it does.

WE (jason, me, tim) will be able to help out/tell eric what to expect with some of this rehab crap. Its a bitch, but pain is a goood thing, very good (i work for a spinal cord injury unit) you wanna feel it.

Trust me Eric already hates the suctioning and lets it be known. I for one am thankful they have all of the procedures that help him even if he hates them at the time they are being done. Miraculously he is still here with us to hate the things they do to keep him alive.

Eric is very lucky to have friends like you guys that can not only empathize but also sympathize with him. He is going to need all the help and support he can find.

Yep, he will have so many people here to help him. There will be no shortage of that. I certainly do not like to think of how miserable rehab/injuries where & how awlful each day was & how often I did wish I was dead!! At least now, the 'good' part of my injury is that can help Eric get thru his. I know Jason & Tim probably feel the same way.

I know I speak for Molly and myself (cause we’ve talked about it) when I say that we’ll trade experiences with anyone!!!! I don’t know how much fighting it is. More of a choice to wake up the next morning, and just keep doing that.

I'm sure rehab is as close to hell as you ever want to get, but I believe you made the choice to work through it in order to get your life back. I think life is always a choice, and I'm glad you guys made the choice to fight that fight.

I go today to see what kind of hell on earth my ortho has in store for my arm and I simply can't wait. At least mine is only an arm/elbow.

Oh Oh Oh I have a fucked up arm also, and the elbow can hurt more than the knees. I've had the PT's working on my elbow causing more pain than when they range the knee.

Hey Mouth, I tried calling you before posting this, so don't be mad...

Eric is awake and talking!!!! I just spoke with his sister, and he's talking 90mph...making up for the last 19 days!!!
Unfortunately, there are still no visitors because he's in CCU...but hopefully that means he'll be moved out of there soon!

I'll keep you guys posted!!!
