Work...do you really??

Recommended Posts

The thought occurred to me while I was sitting here...for what is going on my 7th straight hour of trolling through posts, and bouncing b/w dz.com and my hotmail inbox...

Does anyone else spend, on average, 5-7 hours at work doing anything but working??!!

It amazes me that I still have a job[:/]...and I enjoy my job for the most part, but really - is this the best that corporate america has to offer??:|
good work - if you can get it...but really, why bother!! Toll-booth workers are more active than I am!!:S

Anyone?? Or am I just a sorry excuse for a corporate 'skydiver'??

I have my moments...gotta make time to check DZ.com, horoscope, 5 email accounts, current events on CNN.com...etc. By the time I get that done, new posts are made and I get mail. It is vicious cycle :)

[Laugh] well, I've been spending something like 3-4 hours a day reading and posting on here through my Blackberry pager instead of working! [Tongue] I'm surprised that I still have a job! [Crazy]

Any self-respecting employer should be warned upon interview process...if you see skydiving under hobbies/interests...expect little production from this employee!!!:D:D

You actually work 2-3 hours a day? Fuck, at one point I had so little to do I spent something like three months playing backgammon, while pretending I was working. The best thing, though, they gave me an on-the-spot bonus for working so hard! :D:D:D

FYI - Call it paranoia, but in light of recent events I personally refrain from making public statements like this. You just never know what can come back around and bite you in your ass.

Ya know, you and I think along the same lines. I was just going to remind them of recent events.

I remember that too, which is why I said "at one point." At my current job, I'm so busy, I'm always working, and putting in extra hours trying to get things done. ;)

Most of the employees in my dept have some kind of small mirror affixed to our monitors in cubicle-land. We are always situated with our backs to the cubicle entrances, so I can see someone passing by behind me... Well guess who started that trend... :D:D:D

Yep, work, sleep, work, sleep, work. Just got off a 96 hour shift at 8 this morning, and just woke up from a nice, 4 hour nap in my own bed. No access at work so theres a TON of posts to read here.

Don't get me wrong - I work when there's work to be done - and I like to think I'm good at it, but really - it's not a struggle to 'think' on my job...so I find I'm distracted more than most!

Of course - my rampant ADD doesn't help either!

I work for a large accounting firm...good firm, good people, but man - it can drag sometimes.

Oh well - I guess the problem is me...[:/]

No reason to PM the information to you. I think it's better for the other people that don't know the story to be educated too. Here is the link .
