Guinness - good for anything At a bar with Guinness & Bass on tap. Then it's a Black & Tan Sieara Nevada Pale Ale - for an all round good beer. Bud Light - for an everyday blue collar workers evening drunk. Good local beer is St Arnolds Amber brewed right here in Houston. Shiner Bock - when out with the rednecks and there is no Guinness around. Their one redeeming virtue is that you can sit in a Biergarten and drink liter after liter. Lager is just to wash your feet. Nobody here likes it. Did you ever try a dark brown Bock or Doppelbock (double Bock) in a Biergarten in Bavaria/South Germany? If you drink liters of this, it knocks you out for the rest of your visit down there. About 8 percent, I think this is similar to Ale. I nearly never drink beer as I dislike the bitter taste. And a warm Ale? They have it up in NorCal For a small fee I could ship some down there I'm not ususally a beer person... vodka is definitely my downfall But when I'm in a beer mood I like Pete's Strawberry Blonde, Gordon Biersch Marzen, Fat Tire, Anchor Steam, Smithwicks or Amstel Light
JT3P 0 #38 February 24, 2005 Ah, another Stone drinker. By far Stone is the best brewer around. I primarily drink the IPA but treat myself to the Arrogant Bastard and Ruination. Double Bastard is good, Levitation is so-so, but just had Old Guardian, more of a barley wine, but man, a bottle of that will get you pretty buzzed. Between paychecks, it's Sierra Nevada IPA. craddock 0 #50 February 24, 2005 I always have a Leinenkugel's in my fridge of various flavors. I also drink alot of Black and Tan's, and several ale's from Bells. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
