skycat 0 #1 February 18, 2005 Check out what pookie-bear made for a friend of ours dog. He said he would make Fox one too, but it would be stainless cause she is all about the bling...Fly it like you stole it!
flyangel2 2 #2 February 18, 2005 How sweet for Hook to make that for Rose, I didn't even ask. BTW, she is passed out at my feet right now after her surgery. The vet said that the cancer lump was wrapped around a main blood vessel. So now all we do is wait 5-7 days to get lab results back, and then go from there.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. flyangel2 2 #6 February 18, 2005 You guys rock. I know I'll be needing a re-pack, then I'll bring Rose over and try the new collar on. But we do have to met for dinner to drop the rig off. Damn, when is that rig due? Hurry up and get that reminder program going. Rosa, thanks for the well wishes. edit to addHook sent a PM with the date. March 18th. Make sure you are free for dinner around that time.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. ryoder 1,590 #7 February 18, 2005 I can't see the dog's cutaway handle. Did it get a soft handle or a hard handle? I expect it will be operating the handle with it's teeth, so the soft handle would be preferable."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Squeak 17 #11 February 18, 2005 hey get rid of the yucky chain from the dogs neck you need a haltyA Halty is a muzzle "LIKE" harness that goes over the dogs face. The front is not tight but is on a ring system that when under tension closes the dogs mouth. Since dogs cool down through their mouths as well as breathe trough them . skycat 0 #12 February 18, 2005 I don't agree with pinch collars either, but it's not my dog. Fox, the dog in all the other pictures is well trained, no need for anything other than a regular collar and a leash. Mary, If it wasn't 10:30 your collar would be done, but it's to late to pound a grommet in, so here is a sneak peak. I'll post a good picture tomorrow night.Fly it like you stole it! But hey, what do I know about dogs and training?Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
happythoughts 0 #14 February 18, 2005 I used to have a similar collar for my German Shepherd. 110 lbs and he could still drag the ex around with a regular choke collar. He felt very motivated to chase cats. They learn to quit fighting them after the first time or so. It is part of the deal. If they want to run outside, they have to not eat the neighbors pets. I've had success with some dogs with just reward training... some had to have harder correction methods than others. The last one that I trained, I had VERY good results with clicker training.... even did some stuff with my horses with the clicker.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. eeneR 3 #19 February 18, 2005 QuoteThe last one that I trained, I had VERY good results with clicker training.... even did some stuff with my horses with the clicker. Clicker training is amazing! I used it to help me train my Shiba inu in agility. If any of you knows anything about that breed....i was asking for trouble I had started out with just normal reward system...she was doing ok, but when i threw in the clicker the time it took to train a behavior or chain of behaviours was sliced in a third. Originally on the show circuit I was known as the "Crazy lady with the Shiba". But between using clicker, having a fantastic instructor, and a whole lot of patience. One day it clicked (pun intended) went on to finish titles in Novice...before I had to retire her do to hip/knee problems She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
mnealtx 0 #20 February 18, 2005 I was surprised at how well it works, once it all connects for them.... one of my horses would lean on the farrier, to the point that it was becoming dangerous. It took a couple weeks, but we were able to break that chain of behavior. The farrier was amazed the next time he came out!!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim.
