MP3 Players

Recommended Posts

When i was a kid, my parents bought me the cheaper versions of popular stuff. They didn't care if I whined that it was not cool. I just had to suck it up. :P

I am sorry, at 14 years old, it would actually suck to do that, my parents did that some time to me too, as I do with my own child but in this case... I did the better product and do not regret it. brand names and 'cool' stuff is an important element to be part of the good crowd. she is 14 earning college credits way over 4.0 student, gorgeous, but you know what... it was iPod or die... I did tell her to take a hike B| when she asked for a Louis Vuiton handbag!

LOL...that's pretty much the way it is in my house too. It would go like this, "You want an MP3 player? You get what I decide to give you. If you want a different one, save your money and buy it yourself." I'm such a meanie.

Actually, he's the one who asked me if an iPod was the same thing as an MP3 player, so I don't think he's too hung up on getting an iPod.

Basically, it's so you can download music from the internet and carry it around, right? (I told you I know nothing! :P)

Is an iPod just a brand name for a MP3 player? Why is it the hot thing?

I have a 20GB iPod. It's compact sleek and has can play for two days without repeating a song. I can download all my address book and contacts into it, and I still have room for another 5000 songs.

The thing I like about the iPod is that it can integrate into all the other stuff that you have, like wireless connections into your stereo, and network out to to other PC and Macs. Most luxury cars like BMW, Mercedes, Saabs, Alfas etc also offer the Ipod dock as an option.

I agree - i got some sennheisers.... but it does make me laugh watching peopel strut around with the white ones on!

Just last night I read an article in "Blender" magazine about how thieves are targeting people when they see the white headphones. They know it's an iPod then and they know you'll have the music up and will be less in-tune with your surroundings and snatch it right off you and run!

Uh, ok, if you say so...

Some schools have bonus points for honors and AP classes. Mine was one of those, and I had over a 4.0. It's not impossible. ;)

Oh, and Skymama, thanks for posting this thread. Based on the replies, I'm gonna head to Best Buy tonight and get an MP3 player! B|

I'm not going to argue semantics here. All I'll say is that it's impossible to get over a 4.0 on a 4 point scale (which is what GPA is). Bonus points change the scale.

Andrea, SANDISK, 256 minimum, 512 (mine) is actually more than I use, but nice to have a variety of music to choose from.

Actually, that's how it is in the schools here too. The Advanced placement classes are weighed heavier than normal classes on the 4.0 scale. All of the top students have grades over 4.0 when they graduate.

LMAO...you're a smart man. He's been playing since he was 5. His thigh muscles are HUGE for a kid his age!

Check, it's a prep school part of the university of Arizona, earning college credits... all classes are "honnor", you can get up to 5.0 in this system.

Since when did GPA HAVE to be a 4.0 scale? That is just one type. My high school did our averages on the 100 point scale (as in I had a 97 percent average).
