It really is becoming increasingly recognized that Aethism is a religion in that it believes in that which is unprovable, which would make it a matter of faith, and this is not just the view of those who believe in a God.

Please see the poster at this LINK who gives a thoughtful elaboration as to that relationship.

You jump out of Deland, right? I am probably going to be headed down there in not too long to get some tunnel time in FL, etc... Can't wait to meet you in person. Maybe what appears to be a failure to communicate can be straightened out then -

The only "failure to communicate" is your inability to hear what people say if it does agree with you. If you truly want to learn about skydiving jump down off your pulpit and check what this site has to offer. As for your friend, well he seems to have materialized at just the right time. 5 jumps and several home drop zones, I don't think so.

1,650 views to this thread
100 replies to this thread
150 or so replies to the survey

And very little carnage - even though it was a question about religion? Oh, some very minor friction perhaps - but with that may views and posts you'd think it would have blown up by now.

See boys and girls can play together nice and express their thoughts about religion and God too!

You haven't done a search on some of the other threads on this topic, have you? Actually, some of them might already be in the trash bin. Believe me, the dust has been flying before. Also, a lot of the posts to this thread are blatent hijack attempts, so I really don't think you can count those. As for the survey, I don't put to much faith in the surveys. People put the wrong answers on purpose just to skew results.

Hey, I know how to get 'er - I can watch the kids. Have experience and will work for tunnel time. That might do it, right Andrea?

My kids are teenagers, they don't need babysitting, I just prefer to be with them instead of skydiving on the weekends I have them. Besides, if anyone's getting tunnel time, it's ME! :P

I deleted the last attempt by Jose to pornolize the posts in this thread.

Edit: I'm an idiot.

. . . and furthermore - religion is a good tool to keep the masses scared and content because some are to weak to be able to handle life by themselves and need the image of a great power protecting them so they don't go insane, or is it that the concience is to powerful and they need something to "forgive" them so they feel better about themselves, again, because of weakness - Hey, I have to admit it though - if I could get alot of people to donate 10% of their paycheck to me every week - I'd do it to.

Refer to previous post. That was not an insult but a statement of fact. Once again you did not hear what was being said.

AerOhio has the world's only Ahmish Skydiver, as far I know anyway, that may have changed recently, but I do not think so.

Not sure about Aerohio but I know Cleveland Sport Parachute Center has a Deaf Amish Skydiver as well as the blind skydiver FS world record. ;)

Well, maybe there is more than one Ahmish Skydiver then! That was why I put the disclaimer. He is the only one I ever heard of, now I heard of two. Kewl.:D

...My fairy King can see things
He rules the air and turns the tides
That are not there for you and me
Ooh yeah he guides the winds...

Excerpted from "My Fairy King" Queen, 1972
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!
