AggieDave 6 #2 February 18, 2005 I can't wait for this movie. Hopefully it will be atleast 1/2 as good as the book and a shitload better then the BBC's cheap/lame attempt.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." ACMESkydiver 0 #4 February 18, 2005 Geesh I haven't read that series since I was 12...I hardly remember any of it, but I do remember that I loved it! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

DontPanic 0 #8 February 21, 2005 Hhhmmm, how's this for coincidence? I just made my 42'nd jump today. Is that strange or what? I wonder if it's because they're doing engine tests on the improbability drive.
freekflyguy 0 #9 February 21, 2005 Gitta disagree with you there bud. The BBC series was very good, dont forget that Douglas was personally involved with it unlike the film. RIP Doug Buzz A hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is.It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Andrewwhyte 1 #10 February 21, 2005 It seems kinda strange with the characters speaking in American accents.

Well, it held to the story very very well, that I'll give credit to. What it didn't have was good acting. Unfortunately Douglas is no longer with us so he can't help with this movie. I only hope they stick closely to the book. QuoteRIP Doug Yup.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

The BBC version was DEFINITIVE. This one can only hope to be as good. I bet you didn't like Dr. Who either.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. AggieDave 6 #13 February 22, 2005 Come on, I loved Dr. Who, read the rest of the thread for my other response explaining why I didn't like the BBC THGTTG. On the flip side, I freak'n LOVE British comedies. Not just a wanna be that says "Oh yeah, I like 'the holy grail'" and that's all they've seen. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Clite 0 #14 February 22, 2005 whohoo! I am excited to see this. I must have read the books a hundred times(okay about 8 times). I never saw the series so I cannot comment on them. Hopefully the movies stays true to the books. I guess I will have to reread the book again since I did not reconize all the scenes in the preview. Whoohoo off to the books.
