freeflir29 0 #1 January 29, 2005 So I'm sitting here a few hours ago and the power goes out! Since I have electric heat it was time to go do two things. Dig out the back up Propane heater and also go cut up some wood for the stove. So I did all that........it took a couple hours at least. Just as I get back in the house and get a fire going in the stove.........the power comes back on. Oh well.......I guess I can do laundry now. Time to start packing for Florida! ChasingBlueSky 0 #10 January 30, 2005 This is what you get for making fun of us last week when we got the snow. Maybe you should go to the desert. I love how a little bit of rain or snow shuts down half a state. We get hit with 15 inches of snow and it's biz as usual the next morning._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Dude........I keep telling you......if it was snow that would be no big deal. However, it wasn't. I'm in the process of trying to remove a couple inches of solid ice from my car right now. The heater has been running in the car for about an hour now and it's hardly made a dent. OK.......I managed to get the ice off the front and side windows.........but my ice scraper (One of the big ones you buy in the north with the snow brush on it) bit the dust about 3/4 of the way through the back window. Oh well....good enough. The ice was about 2 Inches thick on the back.
skymama 37 #13 January 30, 2005 The icey roads in Atlanta just made the CBS morning news. You all are famous now, does that make you feel better? jumpinfarmer 0 #14 January 30, 2005 I hate ice storms. We had a small one two years ago and it knocked out power for three days here. Back in 1991 we had a real bad one that flattened about half the trees here and we had no power for about ten days.
