ACMESkydiver 0 #1 January 26, 2005 ...I've dreamt that I went in and didn't stop...went through the earth and came back up (but I died). How 'bout you?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
NWFlyer 2 #2 January 26, 2005 I chose " I've dreamt of a weird twist to skydiving (i.e., jumping off a cliff with a bedsheet)" because that was the closest I could come up with ... I dreamed that I pulled but stayed belly to earth after deployment and while I did that, my main got farther and farther away from me till the lines were *really* long. About 2K it occurred to me I should "go upright" so I did and the canopy went overhead and I looked at it and said "Square? Yep. Stable? Yep. Steerable? Hmmm... maybe not, with those REALLY long lines" and woke up just as I was about to chop."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
Darius11 12 #3 January 26, 2005 I had a dream that on my 3500 hop n pop. I had a no pull. The dream felt so real i felt my skull crack as i hit the ground and i died. I had that dream in my head when i had to do the 3500 hop n pop for real lets just say the exit was not prettyI'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
ACMESkydiver 0 #4 January 26, 2005 In the dream that I died I even saw the FACE of the guy jumping with me as I couldn't get anything out over my head...he was horrified watching me and kept yelling at me and he finally pulled right before his Cypres would have gone off. Then it was really strange; I could see his face at the moment I impacted even though he was 700 feet up. So pained and sad. That was the scariest part. VERY real. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

sum1mom 0 #6 January 26, 2005 I dreamt my shoulders locked and I was left helpless watching the earth get big extremely fast. Woke up before impact, so I lived Eerie thing is, I read that someone had something similar happen a couple of days later....He lived too!! I made sure I stretched really well before I jumped again. BlueEyedMonster 0 #7 January 26, 2005 I have lots of skydiving dreams.... Always land off. Usually in a field. Canopies never open. Usually because we never pull and choose to land in soft something or other. Always a little sore, but get up and walk away. I still have the image in my head of one dream that stuck with me. I was in a field, there were corn stalk stacks (haystacks made with left over corn stalks ) I was standing on the ground watching 3 of the jumpers at our DZ hit them things in a full track... do a bouncing roll out and stand up. I love my dreams
linny 1 #8 January 26, 2005 I go in ATLEAST twice a week. Sometimes skydiving, but usually while jumping off of objects... It's totally normal to me now. Doesn't everyone?
nerd137 0 #9 January 26, 2005 I've had a number of different dreams since I started jumping. But I've never died in any of them. Or, at least, I've always woken up just before impact. I've dreamed that I was in a spinning mal & really, really calmly said to myself just before cutting away, "Hmph, that's not good...hope my reserve works better." There were a couple of dreams where I just float to earth like a feather (in one version, my instructor told me "You don't really need a parachute...those're just for show.") Most of 'em have been extraordinarily serene and peaceful, but there have been a couple less pleasurable ones where for whatever reason I keep falling until the split second before I smack the ground. Evelyn 0 #10 January 26, 2005 I dream about skydiving a lot, maybe because that's what I'm usually thinking about when I'm laying in bed before I go to sleep. Sometimes I get distracted and forget to pull, but I always have good landings whether my chute is open or not. And I don't always jump from planes, sometimes it's buildings and things. Sometimes I'll be in the middle of a dream and just start flying around like I was in the wind tunnel. smiles 0 #11 January 26, 2005 dreams I've had: -coming to- in freefall, with ground rush, eyes wide open gawking at how close the ground is......... -coming to- under canopy at 50ft. from the ground. -in freefall with 1 son tucked under each of my arms, paralized except to hold them tight as a could. of course always wake up before impact........ SMiles I choose rather admit that I know what little I know, and confess that I do not know that which I do not know.....for that is the beginning of knowledge. nael 0 #13 January 27, 2005 I dreamt I had a bag lock, and climbed up the lines to get the canopy out of the bag and clear it! If only it would work so well in reality!www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I've had that nightmare while I was awake...I dazed off in my aviation class wondering what I would do if my family was in a small airplane I was piloting and something went wrong. -Stupid, as I wouldn't be wearing a rig (let alone a tandem rig) anyway in that situation. My boys do wear tandem-like harnesses every day in vehicles...they look identical to a tandem passenger harness, they even have a baby under a parachute for their company logo! No leg straps on the ones we use for our boys though. -Stupid daydream/day nightmare has no basis in reality since I doubt my boys will ever fly in an airplane smaller than a commercial jet at night while they are anchored to their chairs anyhoo. How old are your boys?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
Cornholio 0 #15 January 27, 2005 I've had about 3-4 dreams where I was on the ground getting reading to skydive, then I look up at this loud noise in the air and see the jump plane (or in one of my dreams - the Millenium Falcon) doing funny arial maneuvers and then suddenly crash right in front of me. I'm still on the ground alive, but the plane is on fire and people are dead and I'm freaking out.... yeah, those dreams I wake up in a cold sweat. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
