Avion 0 #51 January 23, 2005 Me, me, me! Get me as your pet. I'll even feed myself. Just kidding Dogs are great. I got two. But, to raise/train them properly is a full time job for months while their small. On the other hand, cats are great too, but in a different, low-key, way. I've also got one of them. If you want some companionship with just a little hassle, cats are a good way to go. Then again, I still available
Dougiefresh 0 #52 January 23, 2005 I tried the pet health insurance, and found it was a ripoff. My dog ate something and had a blocked intestine and needed surgery. Two nights in the pet emergency clinic, surgery, medication, the whole shebang. $3500 worth. When I submitted all the paperwork for insurance, they fought me tooth and nail for every penny. During her care, there were some things that were done more than once, and the insurance was trying to reimburse me for only the first one. Plus there were things that were included on their list of covered care, and they wouldn't accept that what my dog needed and what were on the list were the same thing, even if they were called the same thing and were used to treat the same problem. Basically pet insurance is good if all you ever get is routine care. It sucks if you ever really need it. Keep in mind that they're an INSURANCE company, and that makes them rat bastards who will try to fuck you over.
