ChasingBlueSky 0 #2 January 22, 2005 Quote Gotta get two baby teeth pulled and then fronts and lower braces. Guess how much. I dare you. $7000 - I had to get four baby teeth pulled and top/bottom braces some years ago. That was close to $5k back then...I figure $2k should be a decent markup in that amount of time._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Deuce 1 #4 January 22, 2005 Well, they could do novacaine and hold her down and pull the teeth and that would be covered by my HMO, but I don't have the heart for that. Two teeth with anesthesia is 7 bills and the braces are 4K. The whole thing is just under 5. Maybe a benefit to living in Cali is the increased competition amongst the teeth-benders keeping costs down. I wonder how much my tax return is going to be.... Avion 0 #5 January 22, 2005 I had four teeth pulled and metal braces for two years. It ran about $2,400 in 1977-
headoverheels 333 #6 January 22, 2005 I had lots of fillings as a kid without Novacaine. BTW, my brother's housekeeper said it was tradition in her village (somewhere in Nigeria) to pull all of the baby teeth, so the the adult teeth would come in straight. Don't know if the was the cause, but she did have really nice teeth.

Dude....my mom seriously tied my tooth to the doornob and slammed the door to get it out to save money. I don't really remember it. I think it was one of those things you bury deep in your subconscious. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)

dorbie 0 #9 January 22, 2005 Baby teeth fall out you just gotta wait. All of mine were pulled out by hand mostly by me personally, and it wasn't painful one bit, I looked forward to the $$ from the tooth fairy. My nephews and neices are the same, they're growing up right now and their teeth getting yanked by them or their dad as nature intended. They're encouraged to yank at the loose ones :-). Getting orthodontics is another story, if they need to come out for that then they need to be removed by the dentist. It seems a bit early though, I assume the xrays show some problems somewhere. Thanatos340 1 #10 January 22, 2005 Ohh, Ohh, I can answer this one. I just wrote the Check for my 13-Year-old Daughter’s Braces 3 weeks ago (Yes that would be right after Christmas, Can we guess who is going to be REALLLY scaling back their Boogie Schedule for a while...). Total Cost was $5K. Luckily the Ex had somewhat of a dental Plan so I only had fork over $1,800 to get started. If you really think Skydiving is expensive, try raising a Teenage Daughter. No mater now much money you make, it only costs about 20% more.
ltdiver 3 #11 January 22, 2005 Quote Baby teeth fall out you just gotta wait. Are 'wisdom teeth' considered 'baby teeth'? If so, pay for the general anesthesia! It won't hurt as much, and the bruises with be priceless! They -really- go to town when they don't have to be careful... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

misskriss 0 #16 January 22, 2005 I don't know.. I have only girls. But they have dance lessons, piano lessons and basketball between the three of them. Clothes are a big deal to them as are social activities. It always seems like someone needs money for something. Along with that though I have shopping buddies and am able to do girly things with them.. my oldest is an incredible cook and many times will just say.." I'm cooking tonight Mom... how about shrimp scampi." She also bakes bread from scratch and chocolate cheesecake. yummmmmmy. I'll be having more babies though eventually and perhaps I"ll have a boy and can compare.
Casurf1978 0 #17 January 22, 2005 Are you gonna be knocked out? If you are I would say for the whole deal around $4.5K, if not then like $3.2K.
Thanatos340 1 #18 January 22, 2005 I think it would definitely be Girls. Make Up and Clothes for my daughter set me back a fortune. I don’t think a Boy would be anywhere near as expensive.

jumpergirl 0 #21 January 22, 2005 I just got braces myself in December. Before insurance, it's $3700. I have to pay $2200 out of my pocket. $116.59 a month, each time I got in to have them adjusted. They'll be on for 32 months... 30 1/2 more months.
Nightingale 0 #22 January 22, 2005 baby teeth don't always fall out. sometimes if there's no adult tooth underneath, which sometimes happens, since there's nothing pushing the baby teeth out of the way, the baby teeth don't fall out.

slug 1 #24 January 22, 2005 I would have guessed $5-$10K maybe big people teeth are more expensive. $250/tooth extraction novacin and nitrous. 3 minutes, no pain Talk about multi tasking Don't understand how everyone can keep everything straight with all these kids. Kids activities/issue's Personel activities/issue's, Job Friends activities/issue's I'm sure it's well worth it watching the little ones growing up to be big/good ones. But there's only two of us and sometimes thats two to many for me to handle well.Maybe the trick is to stay so busy you don't have time to do anything but look ahead. happythoughts 0 #25 January 22, 2005 Attached is a pic of a kid with braces. Does yours look like this? My sister lost a tooth in the top of my head after she jumped off the dock. I don't recommend it as a tooth-extraction method 'cause we had to pay a doctor to take it out of me later.
