SpeedRacer 1 #1 January 17, 2005 finally got rid of the dial-up modem & got cable! just enjoying it, that's all. no more waiting around for shit to load...no more of this "buffering" bullshit.... so anyway, is the windows firewall adequate? & since I have a cell phone, I am considering dumping my land phone line wow I'm like all modern & shit. AggieDave 6 #2 January 17, 2005 Window's firewall...ummmm...not really. Atleast get something like Zonealarm if you go without a router and firewall. I've done without a landline for 2 years now. Best thing I've done so far in regards to phones.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

tweak 0 #4 January 18, 2005 ZoneAlarm is pretty good (and use to be free, don't know if it still is). I use Norton Internet Pro now, will cost you $$ but it has AV/Spyware/Spam/Firewall all in one package.
sunshine 2 #5 January 18, 2005 Welcome to my world. I got broadband 2 weeks ago and will never go back. I ditched the land line the same day. I also bought a router for firewall protection. Thats what the geeks 'round here told me to do. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
