I have the worst hangover ever...

Recommended Posts

Isotonic drinks and Ibuprofen.

You're brain is dehydrated - you need liquids. You're also low on salts and sugars. An isotonic drink is the best way to put these back into your system asap. Ibuprofen is the best way to kill the pain in the mean time.

Try and find a non-fizzy isotonic drink if you can... it will help with the pukeing

I can't possibly be dehydrated! I've drunk 2 litres of orange juice and a litre of water this morning already! :S I also forced down some breakfast - which made me feel really sick. :S I'm starting on the painkillers now...

Last night was such a BAD idea. [:/]:S

I am also suffering with you, but it seemed like a good idea last night!

A good mate of mine at the dz has a theory that hangovers can't move quickly, so if you can keep yourself moving then they can't catch up....don't know that I buy it, but when your busy it does seem to lessen it a bit ;)

If anyone has any good hangover cures to get me through the next 7 1/2 hours at work I'd be really grateful.

TFI Friday. :S:S:S[:/]

1. 2 aspirin (or ibuprofen) and as much water as you can hold.

2. Repeat #1 every time you wake up to pee.

3. Next morning, eat a light breakfast.

Excedrin make a Quick Tab that works wonders because it has caffeine in it. Not sure if you can find it there but if you can two of those and even this old woman feels better quickly.

I saw something on the news recently about interactions between alchohol and acetominophen. I believe it was something about the possibility of liver damage, but I'm not positive - I'll see if I can find it again.

Found a link to a bunch of stuff about acetominophen (tylenol, exedrin, etc) and liver function. Googling "acetominophen alcohol liver" will bring up a laundry list of sites....

You're right - acetominophen and alcohol combined have very much worse effect on the liver than one or the other on their own. People are recomended NOT to take drugs containing acetominophen to cure a hangover. Acetominophen is found in Tylenol in the US, over here it's known as Paracetamol.

DON'T TAKE PARACETAMOL FOR A HANGOVER!

Not that it will help this time, but next time try drinking as much water as you can before you go to bed and take a pain reliever. I swear it helps.

I hope you feel better soon!

I have found that if I drink a glass of water for every drink I have while I'm out drinking, I'm fine the next morning. Plus drinking at sea level is easier on my old body.
