SpeedRacer 1 #14 January 7, 2005 I'm doing it by inches around the waistline, measured just below the navel...not by pounds. I only need to lose probably less than 10 pounds of fat, & I wanna gain a few pounds of muscle, so the net weight loss really doesn't matter much. ButI've noticed that if I measure my waist in the morning when I get up, its around 34", but in the evening it's just a hair under 35". Probably I'm a little dehydrated when I first get up. So to keep this consistent, I should probably measure myself in either the morning or the evening & not compare the two. I'll have to check back in in the evening after work. That's another thing: water retention. If you just eat one salty meal & then drink water afterwards, you could gain something like a pound or more temporarily. <>"Ah'm DEEAD SEXY!!" (edited to add a public service announcement: you wouldn't know it from reading these forums, but the word "lose" is spelled with one "o".) (edited to add a public service announcement: you wouldn't know it from reading these forums, but the word "lose" is spelled with one "o".) The waist line is usually a pretty clear indication of bodyfat levels, so that should work well. I have been wearing my 31"'s for the past week and will buy a couple of 32's and probably one 33" pair today. If the 33's get too tight I will use that as an indication that I probably have gone too far. But as long and I keep working out hard, I doubt even at 230 I will need to go larger than 33. Still you never know until you try. For that matter I may even have a hard time gaining weight. I have never made it a point to do this before. In the past whenever I have heard a skinny guy whining about not being able to gain weight, I have been left baffled. It will really suck if I finally understand their struggle. I had planned to eat 4500 calories daily starting the new year but so far I haven't been able to get past 3500. Oh don't get me wrong in that past I have had no problem eating 4500 calories worth of crap (saturated fats, simple sugars, cholesterol, etc). But eating 4500 quality calories is a different story, much more difficult to do.If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. selbbub78 0 #19 January 7, 2005 Hey I'd like to get in on this as well. The holidays weren't very nice to me, My goal is 30, gotta keep myself in line for that CReW stuff (i want to be able to wingload a 113 lightning, and keep it within limits of the CRWDogs). So since I've just started this today, no change i guess?! I guess I have to buy myself a scale now too, eh?! tigra 0 #24 January 7, 2005 I'm counting today as my "start date" (or my re-start date). According to the scale, I've gained 10 pounds since May! Ugh! I want to lose at least 30, and drop at least a full size, a little more since most of clothes are kind of snug now! I gave away my "fat" clothes when I lost weight last year and I'm not willing to buy any more! So....30/0 (maybe I'll have better news on Monday!)
