I go with what I am "reading" from her. I try to roll with her feedback in body language, breathing and movements. I think I have developed a pretty good sense for it. I also don't mind at all if she tells me what she wants. Like if she wants me to "stay there" or change. There needs to be communication. Not necessarily verbal, but it can be. I find a good method is to approach from the side and use swift horizontal (due to the approach equating to vertical) movement, coupled with internal circular motions with a steady upward pressure. This has the additional benefit of giving you a free hand with which you can either ease access or protect the subject from interference from your beard which can prove uncomfortable if steps aren’t taken to guard against it.
