ASSUMING that you can do both in a relationship - (IE no answers along the lines of "I make Love - we don't Fuck")

What is your definition of the two terms?
How would you differentiate?

Oh, hell yeah, you can have both in a relationship. Fucking is raw, animalistic, self satisfying sex, with less regard to the other person's enjoyment. Making love is more tender, about emotional bonding as much as physical, about putting your partner first pleasure wise.

I'm married, we definitely have both, and enjoy both very very much. Ratio is probably 50/50.

I believe similarly - but I never considered the selfish - self serving side to it.
Adding that to the equasion changes my thinking.

Animalistic belongs there - as well as, I think, being oblivious to what is going on around you, like tunnel vision everything is blocked out but the sensations.

selfish isn't exactly the right word, but the closest I could come up with. If fucking, you pay more attention to your body parts than the other person's, in making love you pay more attention to their parts than your own. At least that's how I see it.

I think pain could be in either... it depends on what's wanted/needed. Besides, some types of fucking/making love (ie read Non vaginal intercourse) does involve a little pain, but you get used to it.... (or so I'm told)

love making is passionate, slower, more touching and carressing, kissing and what not. More feelings invovled.

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been covered. I tend to think of fucking as done any where, any time, and for simple and base pleasure.

Making love, for me, tends to be in a more comfortable environment (ie bedroom, bathtub, etc.) and is about a connection both physical and mental.
