Slowfaller 0 #1 September 18, 2004 If there are any monty python fans in the Chicago area, there is a new musical ripped off from the movie "Search for the Holy Grail" being performed starring Tim Curry (Clue) David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier) and Hank Azaria (The Simpsons). ChasingBlueSky 0 #5 January 8, 2005 WooHOO! Just scored tickets to it! Going to see it this weekend! QuoteTelling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and the quest for the Holy Grail, in song, "Monty Python's Spamalot" features a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with legs), killer rabbits and sexy dancing divas creating some of the most unforgettable musical production numbers you will ever see in the theatre on this evening! Directed by Tony and Academy Award-winner Mike Nichols and starring David Hyde Pierce ("Fraiser"), Tim Curry ("Rocky Horror Picture Show") and Hank Azaria ("The Simpsons"), this world premiere, pre-Broadway engagement features a book by "Python" Eric Idle, lovingly ripped off from the screenplay of the acclaimed "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" film with a new score featuring music and lyrics by Eric Idle and John Du Prez._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... ChasingBlueSky 0 #9 January 10, 2005 ....wow!!! My throat is sore from laughing that much. What a great show! If you are a Python fan you have to see this. I'm working to see if I can find another set of tickets to go again. Once this thing hits Broadway in a few months it will be impossible to ever see it. All three big names did great in their roles, but so did the rest of the cast...esp the Lady of the Lake who got one of the larger amount of applause. fyi - just found out this was the official opening night. The last week of charged performances have been "paid rehersals" and they used it to tweak the show. This was the night that the final product finally hit the stage. I had no idea that was the case when I got the tickets...no wonder there was so much media tonight._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... JamesNahikian 0 #10 January 11, 2005 A few years back Dreamsville and I were bedecked knights, complete with coconuts for galloping effect, in an unmentionable society's rendition of the search for the Holy Grail. I've been looking forward to seeing this show, thanks for confirming it will be worthwhile. D. James Nahikian CHICAGO
