Okee dokee Deuce, but you won't see a weight listed for me for at least 3 months...

SW :$/ CW :$/ 130/0

I know some might say that 130 is on the higher end for a 5'4" frame, but I wear some serious muscles ---> (pronounced: "mus' kels" ;)) when I'm in shape. :)

-So are you going to post a weekly "pounds down" thread then every Sunday, Deuce?? :)

OK, day 1 at the gym. I went to the aerobics class. The instructor was at the gym when I used to go before taking up skydiving. She almost fainted. Anyway she talked about what to do if you got exhausted during the class then hit it hard. Thankfully I remembered enough about her style to keep up through the entire class. I was seriously sucking it but refused to quit. Wanda commented she was waiting for me to back down and she was going to lower the pace but I never did.:P

LMAO...she was waiting for ME to back down. OMG, that cracked me up. Ab class was not so easy. I'm still hurting from that one.

Back tomorrow at 5:30 for the kick boxing class.

I was going to go to the gym after work tonight, to get a membership since I haven't had one since moving to CO. But the roads are snowy and icy so I guess I'll just do my power yoga tape tonight instead and hit the gym tomorrow.

Way to go, Leese!

Those instructors are all just frustrated USMC drill instructors.

Way to win!

Everybody else? Keep it positive. You will gain some weight when you start working out. You strain your muscles and they swell and retain water. That is why a bodyfat monitor scale is so nice. A real hard workout causes the swelling or "pump" and water weight really doesn't count.

Don't get discouraged, it's the weekly weight that counts!

Hello Weight Watchers,
I lost 45 lbs since Nats and I haven't lost much strength. I did it by switching to a vegan diet (I also stopped drinking beer:(). I am quite pleased with the results. I still lift weights and my bench is still ok. I don't even miss eating meat.

Wow, what a great thread to start, but I'm not too worried about my weight at this time in my life. Yes, years ago when I weighted in at 185 pounds I was worried, but I've changed my diet and run three miles every day, no matter the weather, damn dogs won't let me miss a day. I admit I didn't run today, but I worked my ass on the slopes.

START/NOW/GOAL

After my 1st World Cup Speed Skydiving meet, I learned that FORM is everything and the thinner guys were faster than I. Weight just keeps my RW and any hope of freeflying out of the pic.

I'm game. Started 2 years ago at 225. Goal at that time was 140. I am now at 141, and not at all pleased with the results. Still have a big gut. New goal is 125. I'm 5'3" by the way, stocky build, so any less than 125 and I'd look unhealthy.

Start 225
Current 141
Goal 125
goal loss 16

I started the monday after Bridge Day (that's the end of October, for those who don't know). I weighed 212.5 (29% body fat, according to my Tanita) then. I'm now at 182.5 (21%). And I've had to re-set my deep brakes four freakin' times.

So: 212/182/165/30

Aside from regulating my food intake (not much) I started exercising semi-seriously for the first time in about 8 years. I'm up to about 5000 yards of swimming daily (that's about 90 minutes, for the non-swimmers amoung us).

This thread was a great idea. I'll jump on this band-wagon ...

It helped me a lot to have a friend to talk to when he and I went on similar diets/work out plans together. We both lost a lot of weight and shared our goals, successes, frustrations and really good ideas and recipes. It sometimes helps to talk to someone else who has similar fitness goals.

I had a really busy year last year and sort of put the work out routine on hold when I started apprenticing for rigging. When I was done with that, things got even busier. This year however, my resolutions pretty much surround good health and I am pretty serious about sticking to them. Getting fit and dropping some weight is definitely high on the priority list.

Since my weight fluctuates from 123-128 my goal is to stay as active as I can during the day and make sure I run a minimum of 2 miles a day. I want to drop 10-15 pounds, tone up, run 1.5 miles in 15:20 without huffing and puffing and do 20 push ups (man style) without even struggling.

I am already stocked up on my SlimFast and healthy diet foods and snacks. Does anyone have any idea what percent body fat is good for someone my size? 5'4" and where/how/what is the easiest way to monitor body fat?

Oh, and, congratulations to those of you who have already lost a ton of weight, that is inspiring.
