Houston - Need Sushi Recommendations

Riddler and I will be in Houston for work a couple days next week and we're looking for Sushi recommendations. We'll be staying across the street from Minute Maid Park so anything downtown would be helpful.

Whenever I have the occasion to be in Houston,Sasaki's on Westheimer(near Gessner??) is always worth a stop.Nice family run place with top notch sushi

I live really close to these two places and would have to safely recomend them both. Mykado is also another decent Japanese grill with sushi.

Taiko is just awesome fresh! Can't beat it and it's located pretty close to downtown, in the Galeria area. Westheimer and Fountain View are the major cross streets.

Definitely Kubos - always love it. Plus, sometimes they put out a bowl of itty bitty baby crabs on the sushi bar. You can watch them play and crawl around, and then order the whole bunch fried - they're delicious!

Azuma rox but Izakaya (w/tapas woooo!) is on the other side of 59... where you will be. It's in the corner of caroline @ ?? and near The GB center and across from Hilton americas. have fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry man... I wasn't able to get hold my sister to find out her preference... she and her husband spent a couple years in Japan as exchange students and they LOVE sushi!

I'll be calling them tomorrow, I'll try to find out for ya.

H-town Sushi?

As much as it saddens me to say it, you've got to go to Austin for the best Sushi in the state (many say the best Sushi in most all of America).

Hopefully the Japanese / Sushi scene in Houston is better than the Chinese. I have been searching for decent Chinese in H-town since I moved here a year and a half ago and have been bitterly disappointed!

There is a really great place called fish on west gray...about a quarter mile west of the skyline... it is a really trendy atmosphere and great sushi... the price is kinof high, but you pay for the atmosphere as well... for good sushi that is also affordable there is a place about 5 blocks west of montrose on westheimer..its called yan sushi. from minute maid park if you go north on...I think its main street that turns into montrose at the fountain and take a left on westheimer its not too far from there. there is also another place call rikshaw (sp?) that I think is on richmond and kirby... a little further from down town, but the are pretty trendy and usually have a dj spinning some cool tunes while you enjoy your eats..
