Most Memorable Moment....

Recommended Posts

I had two, both skydiving related:

1) Jumping out of the bomb bay of a B-17 (The Collings Foundation "Nine-O-Nine") down in Hollister with some good friends. When the P-51s came in to flank us on the way to the DZ, I literally got chills.

2) Jumping onto Seascape beach with my wife and a bunch of friends in June for our 15th wedding anniversary. Landing barefoot on the beach in California was a beer moment. ;)

Wishing y'all a great Christmas, Happy New Year, and a great and safe 2005!

Sept 17th: Finally got up the nerve( after years of talking about it) to just drive to the DZ and make my first jump

Sept 24th: Went back and made a couple more jumps, got 'the handshake' on the ride up to altitude...P.S.T. has such awesome peeps;)

The moment when I actually stood up a landing for the first time on my 42nd jump. That was one my favorite memories of skydiving. I remember the cheers for me and the smile I had on my face that whole day. I know it may not be a big thing to some people, but it was awesome for me.
I'm so funny I crack my head open!

Hey Mike!

My most memorable moment was coming off of a load at the WFFC from Mullins' 23K jump as my friend Lori is haulin ass as fast as she can in a little golf cart as I drive away from the airport to tell me I won the B-17 raffle free jump.

As I jumped (rolled) out of a moving pick up truck heading away from the airport, I realized I had 5 minutes to get to manifest, pack my rig, get my drivers license and to then all the way to the other side of the airport. After doing just that (borrowed a friend's rig) my next most memorable moment was the pilot telling me that they were leaving to go to Bloomington and not going to drop me off on 1 of 3 jump runs. :(:(:(

My friend Bill told me to whip up some tears but I was too mad after they told me they wouldn't just "drop" me off. (Enough to piss a girl off BIGtime)

I did get to cash in the ticket at manifest for $400 but man ... all I wanted the entire trip was to jump outta that airplane. Sigh, maybe next year.

Two times come to mind:

1. Standing on a rock high above the middle fork of the Salmon River, Idaho. It was about 4 days into a 7 day river trip ithrough the middle of largest wilderness in the lower 48. The nearest road was at least 20 miles away and the nearest town was over 100 miles. I can't describe what it felt like to look miles in every direction and see nothing but pristine wilderness with a 'perfect' river running through it.

2. AFF level 5. Sunset jump with the sun going down over the rocky mountains and a huge full moon on the eastern horizon. The jump went perfect and I made my first stand up landing in the middle of the peas. I will never forget that jump.

I have so many memorable moments. Most of them have nothing to do with skydiving.:)
The call from a long lost friend that I got in July.:)
So many moments with patients and families, but yesterday was one of the most memorable. Vernon passed away last year right before Christmas. What a special person. He was a paratrooper in WWII. He saw my skydiving pic and we became fast friends. He called me "Jumper girl".:)
Merry Christmas to everyone.:)

Level 4 AFF, this year in Spain.

Did all that was required, Alex (bless you mate) my instructor gave thumbs up in front of me, had time to look around and down, fell into light cloud, everything went white out. Suddenly, the ground started to appear through the mist. Think that no matter what or how I jump from now on, that will forever live in my mind.

GOOD TIDINGS TO ALL AT S/D SPAIN AND ALL DZ.COMMERS, ST ANDREWS AND STRATHALLAN (AND ALL GUESTS WHO AINT REGISTERED YET)

But probably my *favourite* is when my current boytoy announced he'd be flying out to Canada (from England) for a visit.. And then he pestered me until I agreed to move out there!

London here I come!!!

North or South London????

You know what, I don't even know!! He moved into the flat just about one week ago and is in the process of making it "livable" for us. I don't even care--I'm just excited to head out there ;) (I have naughty thoughts in mind!)
