AggieDave 6 #1 December 23, 2004 Serious event or have fun? A couple years ago when I did it I went into it seriously, then by the second jump I just couldn't be serious anymore, I started tossing hooks and having fun. So this year...I'm wondering if I'm even going to attempt to be serious or just have a good time. Would you try to be serious or would you start tossing out swoops?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
osuskydiver 0 #2 December 23, 2004 just turned into a medal event. last year it was a test event....but just like all competitions everyone is out to win yet have fun. so in other words, I can not answer your question but in collegiates and at nationals I was just having fun. If something good came out of it.....great By the time you read this you have already read it.

ninjaswooper 0 #5 December 23, 2004 we should push for an introduction of swoop events at collegiates, including swoop accuracy
AggieDave 6 #6 December 23, 2004 Quote we should push for an introduction of swoop events at collegiates Dude, the average jump numbers for collegates is well under 500 jumps. People would DIE if there was a swoop comp. This year is going to be odd, looks like there's a good handful of us with over 1000 jumps, jumping highly loaded canopies, so maybe this would have been a good year for a swoop comp...maybe we'll have an impromptu swoop comp with a handful of folks for beer and bragging rights.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." airtwardo 7 #7 December 24, 2004 QuoteWould you try to be serious or would you start tossing out swoops? Quote Dave~ If you enter as a competitor...take is seriously! Practice...learn...the whole 9 yards. The first colligate meet I went to, I entered in the Style & Accuracy competition. I was very competitive in both disciplines, but 1/2 through the event...I was getting creamed on style times by a West Pointer. I said screw it...and quit trying. He zapped 2 jumps in a row...if I would have kept my average going I might have won..2nd place for sure. STILL haven't forgiven myself for not trying! All the time-effort-money to get there...and blew it! Boogies are for fun...competition is serious. Enter the meet...do the BEST you can~ You'll never regret it! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
