I remember reading somewhere that he tried learning for his Balloon record attempt. I checked out his website and noticed a picture of him skydiving, yet his hair and face are not distorted by the wind. Does this look natural? http://www.fox.com/rebelbillionaire/
bigway 4 #28 November 22, 2004 I have seen a photo of branson with a rig on in freefall. have just watched the next episode. A 300 foot bridge swing...holy shit, the idea is to be caught by someone and not fall, you would want to fall, this bridge swing, is the biggest i have ever seen. It looks like the site is actually a tourist bridge swing, Love to do this. Every stunt i have seen so far is just calling out for one person to step up with a rig. What a brilliant show. I doubt there will be a secon series as the prize could never be matched. Does anyone find it strange though that branson is english yet there are no english competitors. You would think for a job like he is giving away that he would have competitors from all over the world. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
skykittykat 0 #29 November 22, 2004 Richard Branson did start his AFF in the UK. On his first level, instead of pulling his main, he pulled his reserve (it was a one handle system). He also did the same thing on his repeat jump. Apart from his lack of awareness of which handle to pull, he did some amazing gymnastics, got away from his instructors and pulled on his back. He didn't finish his AFF at that time. If you can watch the Wally Gubbins videos then Richard Branson's AFF is on there. It is one of the funniest footage ever taken. pilotdave 0 #30 November 22, 2004 I was having a hard time figuring out that baton pass. First of all, when they climbed up onto the wing, did anyone see any kind of safety line? I didn't. And no rigs on either. It looked to me like they just climbed up there and then hooked on. But I can't believe they'd let anyone do that. The part that really got me though was landing and taking off while sitting on the wing. Imagine what woulda happened if one of those planes nosed over. That was some dangerous crap! Not that I wouldn't have done it in a heartbeat if I had the chance! Dave
bigway 4 #31 November 22, 2004 i just had a look and the safety line was going from above the wing to the back of the plane, they were always hooked on. What got me though was the barrell over the victoria falls, i was thinking if i was in that position that i would have taken my chances and done it......then to figure out it was a test and it would have killed you....oh well. i guess i will not be running his company. What a great reality show this is thoughBest tv i think i have ever seen.....apart from sopranos of course. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
craichead 0 #32 December 17, 2004 Just wanted to post this photo of Branson in skydiving gear, as seen on the Fox.com web site for the Rebel Billionaire...of course, the photo doesn't really mean anything because all pictures lie! _Pm__ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
