I believe it was jumped before it even opened to traffic, many times. Felix jumped it later on.

As said, Felix burnt it properly with TV crew and stuff....

Well I don't know if "burn" is the proper word because many people jumped it already and it was already hot, because many got caught by the police. But his jump went on Dutch television and it's now VERY public that the site is HOT HOT HOT

On the news article, it states the vehicle height at the top is only 866 feet. The bridges in WV and CO are higher in that respect as far as jumping off the road platform, if I'm not mistaken. Anybody know how high the CO bridge goes to the top of the suspension structure?

The bridge in CO is 1,053 feet above the river and the towers are 150 feet high from their foundations on the rim of the gorge.

ETA: However the bridge deck intersects the towers about halfway up, so the tops of the towers are only about 80 feet above the bridge deck.
