Amanduh 0 #1 December 10, 2004 This is a pic of my moms 1st tandem jump w/ my bf. You cannot see his face (bad shot) but it's the only one my mom scanned so far! She is ready to go again!!! She said that it scared the SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT out of her but she loved it! HAHAHAHA Silly woman... (I was so proud of her that day...I even teared up like a big ole baby when she landed with that huge smile!!!) *Edited to upload pic whoops
Viking 0 #2 December 10, 2004 i hope i can get my mom to jump some day. She is scared of heights and stuff.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
Ravan 0 #3 December 10, 2004 I'm terrified of heights...that's why I jumped in the 1st place....tell her not only will she get the rush from the jump, but an amazing satisfaction of beating a life time fear....besides you can tell her the ground doesn't look real from that high up Food, Fornication, Freefall
aerohaga 0 #4 December 10, 2004 How old is your mom? She doesn't look much older than me-I did my first tandem this fall at age 44. My husband did too, and he's 61! My daughter (26) said she'll live prcecariously through me~and my 6 yr old grandson wanted to know why I jumped out of a plane. For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, But the sight of the stars makes me dream. -Vincent Van Gogh
Amanduh 0 #5 December 10, 2004 HAHA! My mom actually borrowed Chronicle 1, 2, & 3 from me (actually my bf's tape) the other day. She's got the bug BAD, just says she's worried about the solo part. I just told her she doesn't have to go solo, it's up to her. Do lots of tandems if she wants! HEHE My mom is either 48 or 49. I'm getting her level 2 for her bday coming up! justaflygirl 0 #7 December 10, 2004 That is so awesome, unfortunately hell would freeze over before my mom would ever jump. Oh well, she'll never know what she's missing. Looks like your mom had a wonderful time, does so intend to join our perfect world for good? Congrats Mom!
Amanduh 0 #8 December 10, 2004 LOL Wingnut, all the use I can get!! He is too sweet to take my family on jumps for me And she would really like to jump (again)..she just doesn't know if she could ever go solo. She watches skydiving videos in 'Ah'. It's too cute! Only time can tell..I am definately not going to push her. If she wants to, she will!
jumperconway 0 #9 December 10, 2004 That's too cool Amanduh, Mine is doing her's on 12/29 which would have been her 70th over Sugar Creek CC. She really would have enjoyed it.
Amanduh 0 #10 December 10, 2004 That is awesome what you are doing, Conway. I am sure she would have loved it just as much as we do. December 29th is the day? She will be flying with you sweetie, and smiling the whole time! Hope to see you out at the DZ soon. Happy Holidays and keep that chin up babe!
Rebecca 0 #11 December 10, 2004 Hey girly! Way to go MOM!! That's awesome! Btw I love your user name! It reminds me of that movie Can't Hardly Wait, when the popular guy calls Jennifer Love Hewitt AmanDUHHH! And then she shuts him down hard. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

Amanduh 0 #14 December 10, 2004 Thanks fellow Spacelander's!! Gosh I WAS proud Scaryyyyy Sherri I was so nervous for her though!! I just couldn't wait to hear her reaction. The ONLY reason she did it (for the 1st time) was "I have to see what this feeling you get over jumping out of a plane is all about" Let's just say she knows now!!! HAHA Becca, my friends gave me the freakin nick name back when I was 15 or so and it has stuck ever since (I promise I'm not ditsy either! ) It is still funny when I see old friends and they yell out "HEY DUH!!!!" (worst part being I answer to it).... Conway, that's AWESOME!! Maybe I'll come out Sunday just to watch! Have fun!! Merry Christmas to you all!

wingnut 0 #19 December 11, 2004 ask brian about the time me and him tried to video joey's mom's jump.... we ended up doing a two way after we watched the airport pass under us and start to go off in the distance.....lol... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
WhirledWeb 0 #20 December 11, 2004 My mom and I did our first jump on the same day (it was a gift for her birthday) - now we've both got the bug, i'm working on my 'A' and she's going to start AFF soon (she's done 9 or 10 tandems so far...) pics of her first jump at skydive oregon She's also been the Northwest's skydiving evangelist - brining 10 of her friends on subsequent jumps... we had a party a few weeks ago where all of us brought our "first jump" videos and drank margaritas. It's weird to think that my mom reads my DZ.com posts... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Don't be afraid of death, be afraid of the unlived life. Amanduh 0 #22 December 11, 2004 WINGNUT!! I saw Brian's copy of the video!! If I was there I would have punched his ass!!!!! Oh gosh his mom was so scared!! Brian said his hands were starting to literally freeze hanging on the outside of the plane. It was still really funny in some twisted kind of way... Let us know when you head back out this way
slug 1 #23 December 12, 2004 Amanduh If your mom keeps on doing tandems with your BF watch out. Maybe Jerry Springer time What happens at the DZ stays at the DZ R.I.P.
IB52 0 #24 December 12, 2004 Wow, that is sooooo cool that your mom jumped! I know she'll enjoy every jump she makes from here on out, whether it's tandem or solo. I did my first tandem in June this summer right before my 52nd birthday and I immediately fell in love with skydiving. I've continued to jump tandem probably for some of the same concerns your mom might have about going solo. But I'm working up to the solo part.... :) Tell her "way to go!!" from another mom! And better tandem than not at all, I say!
bclark 0 #25 December 12, 2004 Hey Wingnut, I remember that "Mother's day" jump with Joey's mom! Happy F@#ckin Mother's day eh! I remember that was one of the first days of the spring season where it was warm (on the ground), and I decided I didn't need to wear gloves. In retrospect after hanging out side of that T-Bone watching Joey try to pry his mother's hands off of the door for well over a minute, that was a BAD DECISION!. Oh, I am Amanduh's "BF". Her mom is super cool, and was almost as easy a tandem (no jokes please) as Amanda. I took a couple of older people on tandems this weekend. I took a 71 year old yesterday and a 79 year old today. Lots of fun.
