ccowden 0 #1 December 2, 2004 What is your opening game of choice? I have been trying to expand my repertoire of openings and it is getting frustrating learning them in depth. I usually start with a Ruy Lopez type game that strays from the main line pretty quickly. That's my downfall. I get bored and try to force things. Paulipod 0 #2 December 2, 2004 Typical knights out - usually.... but lead with the queen if its a new opponent that I want to test / have fun. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
SBS 0 #3 December 2, 2004 I usually move a pawn. Then a horsie...then another pawn...then a horsie again. I continue the pattern for a good 45 seconds, then reset the board to get beaten like a red-headed stepchild again... :-) -S_____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness... adamjenner 0 #4 December 2, 2004 i play until i lose. I love chess. I just move all my pawns up first and take out what pawns i can then just go at it with the other peices until on of us is at checkmate. I don't know all the "official" rules or moves or ways of chess. I just play newbie style

Zenister 0 #6 December 2, 2004 Queen side usually gambits, i prefer a wide open positional game vs the close domino tension types offered by the Ruy Lopez... lately its been the Torre attack... but i havent been able to get it to work very well...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. ccowden 0 #8 December 2, 2004 I am similar. I just use the Ruy Lopez to start, but stray very quickly and like to force exchanges as early as 4. Bb5 Nf6 5. Bxc6

skykittykat 0 #12 December 2, 2004 Depends upon whom I am playing against. A couple of pawns and then either a horse or a knight. A Spanish sunset, chilled glass of white wine and a game of chess, mmmm. Not quite at the championship/geek (Liz

Get them confused, checkmate in 4 moves? it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
skykittykat 0 #18 December 2, 2004 Not all in the same move - I was talking about my first 3 moves. I do understand you only get to play one piece per move.... Liz
ccowden 0 #19 December 2, 2004 We were referring to the fact that you used the word "horse" to refer to the "knight" , and referred to them as two different pieces as well. Just found it amusing.

skykittykat 0 #25 December 3, 2004 I am going to dig myself in deeper here For some reason when I picture the bishop I call it the knight - always have done since a child. I thought when I dyed my hair back to brunette I would lose the whole blonde moment thing - obviously not
