Motivation

Recommended Posts

Something's up with me lately and I just can't seem to motivate myself to do all the things I normally do. I've been slacking at the gym, with work, even slacking with skydiving. I need some good motivational tricks. HELP!

OMG The Aliens made it to your house too!! Please tell me they only got your motivation!? they tried for my beer, that's when I whooped'um down with an empty bottle of Jagermeister!! What a trip that night was. I'm glad they only got away with my motivation.. whew..

I've been trying to get it back for months. The aliens must be scared of me because it's not returned yet.

Oh why bother? Slacking at the gym just means you'll get fat. Slacking at work just means you'll get fired. Slacking at skydiving just means you'll get uncurrent and die. You don't mind becoming a broke, dead, fat chick do ya? :P

Hi,

Here's two suggestions of books that may help.

Lucky man by Micheal J. Fox
Companions in courage by Pat Lafontaine

Start with Conpanions in courage, it's filled with around 15 stories about ordinary people that will boost you up for sure.

I think it's cold weather and too much holiday BS. I just can't get motivated to do anything, either. It's kind of getting to me.
I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.

I started taking vitamins again and getting more sleep. Seemed to work for me. I am not as tired all the time and i have gotten back into my workout routine again.:)

I started taking vitamins again

Drinking seems to remove some happy vitamins from me. I'm trying to figure out which one and sell it to the drug companies, but 'til then, I'll keep taking a multivitamin now and then.

If you have no motivation, how are you going to muster enough to go look for books on motivation?

If you are interested in books, check out:

Greatest Miracle in The World

It is as inspirational as motivational I guess.
My only trick with gym stuff is to equate reps to somehting you want, ie a chocolate, a 'stroke' with your sig. other., etc. If you are mental person, it works great.

Of course on the flipside, maybe you need to just give in and enjoy a slack binge, and then go back motivated. I used to be realy bad about half slacking and beating myself up the whole time. SO I did not get the enjoyment from achievement or laziness.
