flyinghonu 0 #1 December 2, 2004 The hubby wants dual exhaust on his 00' Chevy Silverado, extended cab, 4X4, I don't know how many litres or HP but I think its the best you can get on the lot. Anyway, I live in the San Diego area and have been calling around for estimates on installation. Well, being the not so knowledgeable "girl" customer , I've gotten a HUGE range of estimates. I don't want to jump at the cheapest because I don't want it to be a shotty job or to get ripped off when payment time comes. Any idea at all how much something like this SHOULD cost? Brian425 0 #4 December 2, 2004 Flyinghonu, It's a very tough answer to answer. There are so many questions to answer before you can get an answer on price. Are you getting headers, cat back only, stainless steel, etc, etc, etc. I would think that you are looking at a minimum of $500 and up. Add headers and a "X" or "H" pipe, performance cats, it could easily run $1,500. I think that even if it would spoil the surprise, you would most likely be better off giving him the money to buy the system he wants on his truck. If he is particular about his truck, he most likely has a very good idea of what he wants for his truck. The exhaust should be matched to any current modifications he has or plans to do in the near future. Also he may be looking for a specific sound from the exhaust. I hope this helps. PS. You're a pretty cool wife!!! Your hubby's a lucky guy. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
flyinghonu 0 #5 December 2, 2004 VERY helpful. I think I can still keep the surprise, the shop he uses is giving out gift certificates this year...I just wasn't sure how much to put on it. The information you have given me cleared it up. Thanks again....carry on . "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." - Jimi Hendrix
