How to piss off credit card companies and get away with it.

Recommended Posts

here's another suggestion... send the cc company back their own shit. they often make the original solicitation too big to fit into the reply envelope, but that doesn't stop you from cutting it down to size. i've been doing this for years, along with sharing french fries, abc gum, used condoms, whatever... if it will fit in the envelope, share it with them! you'll both be glad you did!

There was a GREAT thread here a while ago about this. It talked about how you didn't even need to fit it in the envelope, that if you just taped the envelope to whatever you wanted the bastards to have to pay postage for (a brick, one guy said he'd sent old truck tire rims, anything up to 72 (iirc)pounds) and drop it off at the local post office.

I thought this would be a BLAST. But I had a question that never got answered on that one: if I sent them a cinderblock and the USPS spent all the money and effort to deliver it, did the credit card company HAVE to pay the postage, or could they just refuse that particular "piece of mail" and stick it to the USPS instead of themselves?

EDIT: the thread was called Postage Paid Envelope REVENGE! if anyone is interested...

We got some stupid solicitation yesterday, an ad disguised as a survey for a local radio and tv station. It really riled my wife, and I told her about people mailing stuff back to the solicitors. She was really excited about it. I had told her about that thread, so now I can have her read it too, and she can start on a new mission.

Thanks for the chuckles.

I keep getting stuff from this one card company daily for the past 6 months or so and now they're starting to disguise what the mail really is (but I know their address now so I can spot them immediately). Anyway, if I threw it away and never responded to the first couple hundred mailings, what makes them think tricking me into opening it will make me want to do it now?!

My favorite of course is when I repeatedly get pre-approved ads for a card that I already have or even constantly get told that I'm pre-approved for say... a Discover card and then try to get it and they tell me I'm not qualified. wtf?!
